Warriors give Battle boys first loss

A dynamic duo dealt John Battle its first loss of the 2017-18 season.

Tyler Vanover and Isaiah McAmis each scored 20 points as Wise County Central walloped John Battle for a 74-48 Mountain 7 District boys basketball win Wednesday night.

Dalton Mullins added 11 points for the Warriors, who grabbed the momentum early and pulled away.


A 14-point effort from Mikey Statti led the way for John Battle.

With Battle (6-1) and Graham losing on Wednesday, Richlands (7-0) is the only unbeaten boys hoops team left in far Southwest Virginia.
