Boys BB East Rockingham vs Stuarts Draft

This doesn't sound like a typical Stuarts Draft pace. Did East Rock do something to control the tempo?

We played a little defense but nothing great. The difference this time from last is we challenged their 3 pt shots no matter how far out they were. Their kids have some kind of range if you leave them open.

On offense we took what they gave us, fighting against their press every time up the floor. I was talking with the radio guy Mike Schickman after the game and he said he couldn't remember when he had seen a team turn the ball over 27 times and still win.

Draft led most of the game by keeping the defensive pressure on and forcing so many turnovers. East Rock didn't adjust well early on, finally making a run in the 4th. It's a matchup problem for ER, their style just gives us fits. They come at you non stop and in waves and force the pace when they get the ball. They are going to be a handful for Madison, better bring some track shoes.

Madison plays at Central tonight. The winner of that game will be the #1 seed from the BRD. The loser is #2. Is it set in stone that SD travels to Madison regardless of the outcome tonight?

The admin at ER gave me the region seeding info.

1. Regular season district champion
2. Tournament winner
3. Tournament runner up
4. Regular season district runner up.
5. Regular season 3rd place.

If these are correct then Central would be at home vs Wilson
East Rock would be at home vs George Mason
Madison would be at home vs Stuarts Draft
Lee would be at home vs Clarke

After our track meet, hackfest last night I don't envy you guys drawing Stuarts Draft even if they do travel to Madison. Better be ready to defend the 3pt line and plan to beat a very aggressive, physical press. Draft doesn't have any size but they send everyone to the boards for rebounding so they end up getting a ton of second chance shots, most of them kicked back out for 3s.

The winner of tonight's Madison-Central game is the #1 Bull Run seed. Which I am not certain I understand since this would make the regular season championship only window dressing. Can someone correct me if I'm wrong here?

When I look at the Shenandoahdistrictva.org website it already has Lee vs. Clarke and East Rock vs. George Mason posted even though our district championship game is tomorrow night. It's my understanding the rules are set at the region level so they should apply to the Bull Run district as well. Bullrundistrictva.org doesn't have games posted for either Central or Madison so maybe it's different, not sure.

Yes it is all about the BRD tourney. The regular season meant nothing. But Central just won a close one over MC so it is moot.
