No Shenandoah or Valley District games tonight...here's what we have for 2A Boys in the Bull Run

Rappahannock County at George Mason
This could be very, very ugly. Expect Mason to go to their bench really and often in a rout.

Strasburg at Madison County
Madison's size will be too much for the Rams. However, Strasburg can shoot the 3 and will scrap so they could make it interesting. Madison by 10+.

William Monroe at Clarke County
Clarke had a good showing against Strasburg the other night defensively. But...Monroe has too much athleticism and gets an easy win tonight.

I agree on all three. I think maybe Strasburg can hang around with Madison for a bit. If they're hitting the three...you never know. That Mason game...could get very ugly!

MC beat Strasburg in a low scoring affair, 47-39. Definitely not the Mounties best offensive showing but they found a way to win. 12-0 and counting...

Madison struggled offensively all night but had a great defensive effort to secure the win. Madison was led by Dylan Breeden with 17 points and Isiah Smith with 13. Twyman was in early foul trouble. Taylor was just a little off tonight with his jumper. Not knocking Strasburg because I think they will be dangerous come post season, but MC just didn't hit the open looks like usual. Even though the "O" was a little off, they were tenacious on "D". Very few open looks for the Rams. I expect the return match at Strasburg to be a real battle. MC has a tough border rivalry game Saturday v. 5A Orange County at OC.

My sources told me that Clarke had a shot to tie at the end and missed...Monroe hit 2 FT's to seal it. 46-41 Green Dragons

Clarke County actually had two chances to tie the game in last 30 seconds. One shot when they were down 2 went in and out and when they were down three a kid from Monroe came out of nowhere to block the 3 point shot. The game was close the whole time with numerous lead changes.

Sounds like Clarke is getting better. I haven't seen Monroe all year. How are they?

Madison has won low scoring and high scoring games...sign of a team that just knows how to win.

Clarke is playing at a very slow pace which is causing games to get any kind of rhythm. Monroe is athletic and is 8-3 on the year now but they really should have lost last night. Winning teams find a way to do just that. I would bet that in 8 games Clarke has given up 50 three pointers while maybe making 10-15. However they are playing hard and improving.
