Game should have ended 55-53, from everyone I've spoke to, the foul call that gave Dean the FTs to tie it up was indefensible, just a horrific call.

Bradley Dean just passed Alonzo Mourning (Indian River) on the VHSL scoring list with 32 this evening.

Sits at 2,122 and next up is a tie between Mike Collins (Thomas Walker) and Moses Malone (Petersburg) at 2,124.

Look chief, if "ifs and buts were candy and nuts, it would be a Merry Christmas." Well, it's February and Christmas or wishful thinking is over. There's no need to blame your loss or losses on the hard working men and women who officiate and try to do their very best.

Okay Captain Goober, wishful thinking has absolutely zero relevance to this discussion. I'm not saying the refs are solely to blame. Union missed a ton of FTs that would have sealed the game. But with seven seconds to go, Union up two, a player cleanly blocks a shot. Game over would be the correct outcome, but a foul was called despite there being no foul. So yeah, the refs played a gigantic part in the outcome.

the refs work hard, absolutely. But they are also paid adults and therefore subject to criticism. They screwed up, it's that simple, but it wasn't malicious, just a moment of incompetence and also expecting one thing and then not adjusting when that outcome didn't occur.

Look pal, your first post only mentioned the officials for your loss and now your backtracking and shifting the goal posts in your second post. So, you actually DID imply in your first post that the only reason lost was due to officiating, otherwise, you would have mentioned the foul shooting thing in your first post.

You lost because GC is a better basketball team and they made their free throws (part of being a better team.) GC played as bad as possible and Union played as solid as possible and still lost.

Lay off the officials. It's lame to blame them. Just except the 3rd defeat by GC in the season and move on.

LOL okay bud whatever you say. You're wrong in every aspect but it's okay, I'm done. Union played poorly, missed too many FTs, too many turnovers, and yet still has the game won if the correct call is made. Union didn't lose just because of the refs, but Union didn't win because of an officiating decision. Sorry you can't grasp that.
