Wilson Memorial is going toe-to-toe with Lee here at hatcher Gym. Leemen with a 14-13 lead after one in Shenandoah District boys basketball semifinal.

A 3-pointer by Matt Poole and a putback by Greg Woodard give Wilson a 32-31 lead at the half of Shenandoah District boys basketball semifinal.

Wilson's Greg Woodard leads all scorers with 16 points. Welch has 6 and Church has 5. Henderson and Vaughan both have 12 for Lee.

Lee calls TO with 4:12 left. Leads Wilson 58-51 in Shenandoah District boys basketball semifinal.

It's a final at Lee. Top-seeded Leemen advance to Shenandoah District boys basketball final with 74-56 win. Vaughan punctuates it with two-hander off steal. Exciting game as Wilson pushes Leemen to the limit.

Good win for Lee. Not that they played great, but just finished off Wilson when they needed to. Lee started the game with good defense, forcing turnovers in the first, but didn't take advantage. A little sloppy themselves and did not make shots. Wilson settled down in the second and played tough and scrappy.

The third had Vaughan picking up his third foul and taking a spot on the bench. Lee did a good job of getting the lead without him, and making Wilson work for points. Woodard, who played well, leaving with the injury hurt the Green Hornets, but Lee played better in the third to finish with the lead.

Vaughan came back in the fourth and led Lee on both ends. Lee closed the deal and got the job done to finish Wilson. It seemed to me that, like the first game between the two this season, Wilson just ran out of gas. I'm wondering if maybe Wilson can use some timeouts in the second half/fourth quarter to help them when they play Central next.

It looks like the Region B tournament is set. I think it will be #4BR Clarke County at #1S Lee, #3BR George Mason at #2S East Rockingham, #4S Wilson at #1BR Central, and #3S Stuarts Draft at #2BR Madison County.

I like Lee, East Rock, and Stuarts Draft advancing to the semis. If Wilson can play tough and scrappy like they did tonight, maybe keep it close in the 4th and not run out of gas, it could be a close one vs Central.

Serious injury for Woodard? Or did it seem minor?

I just hope this was Lee's "bad game" that they got out of their system.

If those pairing are true - I think Madison (especially at home) will beat Draft, unless SD hits a bunch of 3's.

Lee, ER should roll....Central should also advance without too much trouble.

I'm leaning toward Draft. They can really mess with teams that have not seen their style of play. They gave East Rock all they wanted tonight on the road. Wilson just might surprise you in the game vs Central. They are well coached and when ready to play are just that 'scrappy' annoying type of team that you just can't shake.

I'm with you on Lee and East Rock but I gotta disagree about Draft vs Madison. I see Draft winning that game by 15 even at Madison. Been wrong before though. Wilson at Central should be very competitive with Central being tough at home and Wilson just scrappy. Great time of the year to be a fan!

Not yet. The regular season in the BRD meant nothing. The tourney decides seeding for regional. Madison travels to Central tonight in tourney finals. Winner will be 1 with loser being 2. They split in regular season and Madison has started to live up to expectations recently.
