Two old rivals and traditional powerhouses will collide in Staunton on Tuesday night with a State berth on the line. I think in the history of the Lee and Brunswick rivalry...this will be the first time they've met in Staunton. Should be a great atmosphere for this one.

Any thoughts on this one? I actually don't know much about Brunswick this season. I usually rely on their fans here...but most haven't posted in awhile.

I'm pretty sure that Brunswick has not played at Lee before. I do remember Lee blowing out Brunswick by 30 or something at Spotswood in a AA state quarterfinal game, during the 'streak' seasons.

According to the district website, Brunswick is 15-11 with 2 forfeit wins included. They have won 5 of their last 7 games since late January. It looks like they had a good December win over Southampton then struggled until the last 7 games.

Brunswick usually plays tough schedules...so Lee is going to have to be ready Tuesday night. If Lee plays like they have the last two weeks...I feel pretty good. If they don't or have the bad third quarter that's bit them at times...it could be tough.

One win and no matter what happens in the region semifinals or title game...they'd be in the state tourney. So...I hope to see Lee's best effort yet. I'm sure playing Brunswick will be a nice motivator too.

I think the only common opponent that they have is Amelia County. Lee won by 22 and Brunswick lost by 7. Amelia seems to be a much better team now so...I'm not sure how much you can go by that.

What's crazy is if the dominoes fall right...Lee could see Draft again in the region semifinals. Or they could get a rematch with Bruton who denied the Leemen a state bid last year.

Unfortunately, Leemen you are living in the past. We know .. but guarantee you 90% of those players have no idea who Brunswick is. Extra motivation wont come there. Lee by 15 and I like Draft to pull another shocker

I have to agree, Lee wins easy and Draft pulls another shocker.

I really thought Draft would give Lee a better game the first time around and that didn't happen. Maybe if they get the chance again...

I don't know that I'd say Lee wins easily. This time of year anything can happen and Brunswick is not exactly a cupcake. I would love to see Lee roll but...this wouldn't shock me if it was very close.

If the stars should align in such a way that East Rock, Lee, Stuarts Draft and Madison would be the four teams to advance to JMU, that place would be rocking that weekend, considering that all four of them are within a 45 minute drive!

When did they play Amelia? Amelia's schedule on JRD website doesn't show them playing any non-district games. Their only loss was to Goochland according to the website. Not much being said about the Raiders.

I'm not exactly sure, but I believe it was a tournament played at Spotswood High School around Christmas time - Lee beat Amelia 77-55.
