Benedictine crushed four homeruns including a grand slam in their 10-0 win over Cape Henry.

Two juniors stepped up with big performances during Benedictine's 10-0 shutout of Cape Henry. Gregory Ryan blasted two homeruns including a grand slam and pitcher Jake Lingle tossed a 2-hit seven inning shutout.

James Madison commit William Simon put the Cadets up early with a 1st inning homerun over the left field fence. In the 4th inning, back-to-back homeruns from Ryan and Holden Fiedler over the same left field fence made the score 3-0 in favor of the Cadets.

Ryan's next plate appearance was even more fruitful as he cleared the bases with a grand slam homerun that hit the yellow covering on the top of the center field fence to give the Cadets a 7-0 lead. Threw walks and two balks scored two more runs in the top of the seventh while Lingle helped his own cause with an RBI single.

After allowing a leadoff single to Matt Ballance Virginia Tech commit Matt Ballance, Lingle didn't allow another hit until the 5th inning when Aaron Torres singled with one batter on. He struckout four while allowing only one walk.

Cape Henry used five pitchers although the order appeared to be decided before the game. Four of the 10 runs were unearned.
