No, not Salem. I'm talking about my pickems. Good Lord. You would think I could at least been :500?

The good news is that most of us missed many of same games. But still, this ole boy has not just dug himself a hole, he dug a crater. It's probably a little early for excuses so I will say, "there is always next year", or "I am in a rebuilding year", or "the officials cost me several games"! But truth be, "l just didn't have a clue what I was doing"!

But, I uncovered evidence last night on Bleeding Navy. First, the authorities were tipped off and they confiscated and examined his server. He had classified, "insider information" on his personal server. We all know that this gave him an unfair advantage. I hereby petition Mike to vacate all of his victories. (Especially the damn Louisa win! I had to listen to him crow all the way home from Fredericksburg last night.)

You see, he changed his pick from Sherando to Loiusa at the very last minute. He claimed is was his hard work in analyzing the game. The truth is, he used that secret insider information on his computer. (Man, it was a long ride home!)

Hey gals and guys, we all had a great Friday night, thanks to our kids. Win or lose, we enjoyed the freedom to do something we wanted to do. We could take our families and ourselves to a public event without real worry that harm would come to us. We got to observe our boys, (and an occasional girl), learn lessons that will help them become responsible adults. Many in the world do not have opportunity. So smile this morning and be thankful, and just have a great weekend!

With you there. I don't even want to look at my pickem's. I'm totally poned.

Where did you eat last night and if you missed Karl's, it was a big mistake.

Really nice game by the Generals last night. Total domination. JM is is really down this year or the Generals are that good. A little of both, I think. Jacket Oline was just awful. Awful. Tackling was pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. I was embarrassed for the Burg. That level of play may not get them a win all year.

And I don't know why you were worried about lawn chairs. The visitor's side was not even half full.

Now that us funny sir. Unfortunately/fortunately depending on the circumstance he is always that way. Its not a game he always looks at the glass as being half full. DP is a true friend and fun to be around, but because I just say how I feel (good, bad or ugly) he drives me crazy with positivity. Lol..

I'm scared to look at my pick em results, I know it ain't pretty. Take heart DP, week 2 last year I put up a 6, that's right a 6, and I came back to lead at the end of the regular season barely over @OCBoy. (For reference, I would put the average score for a decent week at 12) So from another glass half full kind of guy, (even when I swear someone has just taken my glass kicked it over and stomped on it smashing my glass) take heart it can be done.

My picks are torched as well. Won't be any big leads for me this year...

DP, you and BleedingNavy are great guys and crack me up. I look forward to having another good time at the Hanover/Dinwiddie game next week. See you there.

Absolutely, we are looking forward to it also.

Yes sir, we darn sure have a great time together. (Even if he does make us late all the time. I was on time yesterday, and he was late again. I had to sit in the scorching hot parking lot waiting for him for Lord knows how long. But I'm used to it!)

Navy is just a teensy bit superstitious. He has decreed that "we shall not sit where we sat last year at the playoff game at Hanover". Also, our good buddy Parker is not only not permitted to attend the Hanover game, we are forbade from speaking to him between now and after the game. It seems that old Parker brings bad luck to our games with Hanover. In fact he has attended every one of our losses to Hanover, and has never been present when we beat the Hawks. Do you see a pattern here? For once, I'm going to have to agree with Navy.

Congrats to you Hoos, and to the Lions. And Hammy, keep your chin up. That great Sherando program will get it together and mess up somebody's playoff game.

Yeah, I suspect just about everybody's picks to a good whopping. And that's fine. It's all about having fun and teasing each other a little. Everyone enjoy this chilly weekend!:eek::(

I said DP was nice, but he does tend to stretch the truth. I was exactly 1 minute behind him and thats after being caught in a 10 minute backup on 95 N. The reality is he is the late one. Always seems to get called for honey do's a the last minute.

He whined about the heat so much yesterday I thought he was born in Alaska. Felt fine to me. Heck, I sweat when its forty outside.

Yes, I am superstitious. Even have seating arrangents at home games. In 2013, a friend came to watch a playoff game and I would not let him set with us. It worked 15-0. One old man has set on the same crack in the bleachers for 5 years. I get to the game early and put a cushion in his spot. He absolutely loves it. Taking him to the Notre Dame and Va Tech game in South Bend this year. As you can see I am friendly to the senior citizens like DP.

I have to say that I may start driving us to games. DP took a short cut when we turned off of Williams Road and slam ran over a medium. Thank the Lord for 4 wheel drive.

Well, Mr GPS. Why don't you tell them why I even had to be pulling back out on the correct road? Does, "quick, turn here" ring any bells? Maybe I would not have had to turn around at the end of a dark, dead end road if Mr. World Atlas there had been paying attention!

Notice: immediate job opening. Navigator needed to ride with me to away games. Must be able to pay attention and provide accurate directions.

Additional requirement, BE ON TIME!

Submit resume to DP.

You went to a game without knowing where you were going before you left. You relied on GPS even when you were given directions and told where to park. You're buds and did not drive together. Where did you eat? McDonalds?

I have no sympathy for either of you.

Yes we rode together. No, we did not eat at McDonalds. And yes we knew where we were going. And we parked along the street about 75' from the gate.

So thank you, but I do not need or want your sympathy.
So you were complaining about what? And 75' from the gate? OMG.

You are such a woman.

We were not complaining. For a man who claims to have done it all and knows it all you are quite ignorant. I will call it a lack of insight.

We where simply ragging on one another in a friendly way. Thats just what we do. Same with Mike, Danville, Springer 76, Hamspear, Hoos and anyone else who doesnt take life so seriously. Maybe you should try it sometime. Laughing at yourself and having good natured fun with other imperfect souls is what makes life worth living.

Oh and to clarify for the record. I was not navigating, because someone kept asking for scores from around the state. Wonder who that was? Taxi please!

One more point of clarification regarding dining. DP, Jamie and I prefer "country food" and old fashion diners. We dont do fast food, nor do we really enjoy fine dining.

Meatloaf, country style steak, collard greens, mac and cheese, pintos, hot dogs, home cut fries, and sweet tea suit us just fine. A bourban on the rocks aint too bad either.

Diners, drive ins and dives thats us.

You have garnered a great deal of respect from me over the last few months. You can read, write and present yourself intelligently. That's not common here.

Ragging on one another is fine and appreciated. I'm from NY, where it's actually graded. So I defer from stomping on folks. But I love my HS Football, so I remain a reserved poster.

No one has done everything. No one knows everything (just check my pickem's for proof). That my life and experiences are probably far different from others here, is true. I do not care if anyone does or does not believe it. My list of successes and experiences may be long but it is also true that my list a failures is longer. You cannot succeed without attempts that result in failure. More lessons in life are achieved by failure than anything else. How we learn from those failures is what defines us.

But it does not stop the fact that when I am faced with a 20' putt, I fully expect to make it. No jitters. No shakes. No doubts. Call it cocky. Call it arrogant. When I step up, the ball is going in. Of course I can fail. But, in that moment, there is no doubt that ball is going down.

There are no perfect Souls but you're smart enough to not need me to tell you and you know damn well I'm already riding the Highway to Hell. Since my divorce, drunken debauchery has been my Credo. Hookers and booze can really dent the Bank Account though. Budget accordingly.

And there is no one on this board that I make more fun of or acknowledge and berate more when wrong than me.

Well said Shanti. I don't live in a glass house, so I do occassionally say things I shouldn't.

I will not speak for others, but I enjoy a great debate with you and any poster. I just really cringe when it turns personal. We all have something in common (love of footbal or sports in general); therefore, when it goes bad we chase away good people from this board.

When I asked you a few months ago about the Braves and college softball I had a reason. I umpire college softball and thought we may have crossed paths. I also spent a summer in Pulaski playing rookie ball. We actually may have a few things in common.

Did I ever tell you I enjoyed reading all your remarks . I will need to catch up with DP and BN sometime. I don't know when LOUISA is open this week but my daughter plays volleyball Saturday so I'm headed up north.

Well, I guess we better both keep winning so we can meet in the playoffs. What do you say to that?

I assume you are heading north Friday? Consequently, you won't be able to slip down to Hanover?

Yes heading north Friday parents get to have supper with the team. See were you got back at 12:30 am. Louisa got back to the school at 2 am. By the way I'm glad I did not join the pickem this year LOL

Oh come on and join late. I'm waiting around at the bottom for you. Except in one week you will be well ahead of me!

Enjoy your trip this weekend, and good luck to your daughter and her team.

No question in mY mind this is what you would do. Both be safe.

Stay focused. Courtland next. Eight fumbles in a game isn't going to work all season but I don't need to tell you that. Ball security and keep pounding the rock. Defense did well enough. Sherando is good. Says a lot. A really fine season is on the horizon. Very best of luck.
