Cape Henry Boys basketball is back on top of the TCIS after defeating Bishop Sullivan 83-69.

The Dolphins have dominated the conference the past few years but they saw their streak of three straight TCIS championships end last season to Hampton Roads Academy. This season the Dolphins regain the top dog title after completing a sweep of the TCIS Regular season and tournament championships.

The win didn't come easy as Bishop Sullivan went toe-to-toe with Cape Henry before the Dolphins pulled away to start the 4th quarter. Senior Iziah James started the run with a buzzer beating three to end the 3rd quarter which gave the Dolphins a 56-51 lead going into the final period. Cape Henry opened the quarter with an 11-2 run to break the game open. James had four straight assists including a dish to Tommie Pope for a 67-53 lead with a little over five minutes to go in the game.

A Malik Marrow dunk effectively ended any thought of a Bishop Sullivan comeback. Marrow finished with 25 points, five steals, eight boards and five assists. James added 22 points, five assists and four treys. Sophomore Dajour Rucker scored eight of his 17 points in the 4th quarter while adding seven rebounds. Pope chipped in 14 points, seven boards and three steals.

Bishop Sullivan pulled to within one point on several occasions but could never take the lead. Freshman Deante Mobley two free throws with 3:10 to go in the 3rd quarter pulled the Crusaders to within one at 47-46. But three straight baskets by Marrow extended the lead to 53-47 with a minute to go in the 3rd quarter.

Mobley tied Marrow for game-high scoring honors with points including three triples. Senior Michael Barfield-Owens added 18 points and seven rebounds while Lance Tebay scored 13 points to go along with eight rebounds.
