Cape Henry sophomore Dajour Rucker scored 25 points and Iziah James added 21 to send Cape Henry to a 74-67 win over Wakefield.

Cape Henry led 13-2 in the 1st quarter but Wakefield recovered to tie the game in the 2nd quarter after a layup by Halil Parks. Rucker scored five straight points including a three to help Cape Henry regain the lead 29-26. A layup by Alan Treakle sent Wakefield to the locker room with a 33-32 halftime lead.

The Dolphins led for most of the 3rd quarter but they weren't able to pull away. A basket by Rucker and a three by Malik Marrow opened up a 54-47 advantage for the Dolphins. The margin reached 10 (63-53) with 1:30 remaining in the game. From there, it was free throw practice for James who iced the game the rest of the way.

Rucker was selected game MVP with his 25 points, nine rebounds, and three treys. James was 12 of 16 from the free throw line scoring 21 points with eight assists. Malik Marrow posted 16 points and four rebounds while Tommie Pope grabbed nine boards to go along with 10 points and three steals.

Wakefield placed three players in double figures including 24 points from Treakle. Ben Horsford and Halil Parks had 16 and 14 points respectively. Horsford finished 4 of 8 from downtown. Eric Isler and Chris Warner both pulled down eight rebounds.

Cape Henry moved to 11-6 overall with the win. The Dolphins are now 4-1 all-time in the VaPreps Classic. Wakefield fell to 15-4 overall. None of their four losses have come to public schools in Virginia as two have been to private schools and the other two were in a tournament out in Utah.
