That's a considerable upset. Methinks PH got caught sleepwalking in the midst of a very boring part of their schedule (Fleming, Northside, Bburg, HV) and assumed that CS would be the same team they rolled 35-0 last year. Guess who also beat CS 35-0 a year ago? Betting the Salem coaches harp on this one quite a bit as they continue to prepare for CS next week.

Besides a bizarre thumping from Byrd and a one TD loss to a decent Glenvar squad, this is a huge turnaround for CS. Tonight's win guarantees their first .500 season since 2014 and, with a win over their next three games (Bburg is in this list), their first winning regular season since 2012.

Good points. PH always has skill kids but, they regularly get punched in the mouth in the trenches and have a couple of just brain dead performances each year.

They will definitely beat Bburg

Not surprised at all. You can throw the William Byrd game out as there was a tradgedy at Cave Spring before the Byrd game which I will not get into. Cave Spring is much improved with 32 or 33 year old Nick Leftwich, former Salem QB at the helm. His father former head coach in southwestern Virginia and assistant at Salem is an assistant. Nick also was an assistant at Graham High School and Tazewell as well as under William Fleming head coach Jamar Lovelace, highly touted in Lynchburg. I am not predicting anything but am definitely impressed with the improvement in year two of Nick Leftwich's regime.
