Game Recap Chantilly Wins State Title

Chantilly's third straight trip to the State championship game almost ended with three outs in the bottom of the 7th inning but the Chargers scored three runs to defeat Battlefield and win their 1st State title.

Brady Ryan singled and Chris Pitura reached on an error putting two runners on base. Ryan Krueger hit a sacrifice fly for the second out but Forrest Wagner was able to score. Garrett Snedeker then tripled to right field scoring Pitura to tie the game. Jared Enders single to center scoring Snedeker to give the Chargers the State title.

Battlefield scored two runs in the top of the 6th inning to take a 2-0 lead. Tyler Soloman led off the inning with a homerun to left field. With two outs, Oakley Herrewig singled and scored on a triple to center field from Jonah Seagears.

Jake Pasquale got the final two outs in the seventh inning after relieving starter Forrest Wagner who pitched into the 7th inning. Wagner allowed two runs, three hits and struckout six. Battlefield pitcher James Beasley took the loss despite not allowing an earned run. He gave up five hits with five strikeouts.
