Congrats to Clarke and congrats and a very good season for the Fighting Leeman.
I believe this is Clarke County's first ever trip to the semi-finals. Good luck next week.
Clarke's defense bent, but it did not break!!! First game all season that I've gone hoarse!! That was a helluva game! Clarke still had some stupid personal foul penalties. Matt Dang had an 89 yard td run after Clarke stopped Lee on Clarke's 11 yard line. Lee fumbled on the 1 yard line near end of 2nd quarter and Clarke recovered the fumble. Clarke committed 3 turnovers, a fumble and 2 interceptions. The 2nd interception came on a fourth and 17 play and Lee intercepted it on their own 1 yard line. Should've just dropped it, oh well! Who's next??

12 penalties against Clarke and 1 against Lee. You could tell these officials had not worked together before. Interesting to see the supervising official taking notes after some of the calls. Side judge told a Clarke coach that he did not throw a late hit penalty against Lee because a Lee player got hurt. Not sure how that equates. The Clarke kids just need to look ahead and not think about the officiating.
Now for all the positives...
Both defenses did a great job tonight. For all that was written about the powerful offenses, the defenses for both teams were really the difference tonight. Great job, Leemen. Hope we see you again in the future. You should be commended for your fans traveling well.

wow my score was off i had clarke by 2 scores. They won by three scores. That high powered lee offense just could not get in the endzone. I figured clarke would slow them down but a shut out. That even surprised me. This could be the year for the eagles. defense wins championships and lord knows clarke did not play well on offense tonight with the turnovers. I also said lee was not that impressive against east rock or strasburg they struggled early in those games and the other team just wore down in the second half. i called this one on the nose. Now who does clarke get in the semis and what day will it be on
If Richlands wins today, we will travel to Clarke. If Appo wins, Clarke gets the winner of Union/Glenvar.
Made the short drive to Clarke, my thoughts: Undisciplined team, physically strong, unable to throw the ball, QB will improvise.They ran 3 or 4 trick plays vs Lee. A sign of being desperate for a passing game not just "putting it on film".
Teenagers do make mistakes. Undiciplined i would agree to a extent last night but those boys knew what would be said if they lost. They got caught up in the heat of battle. I wouldnt call them trick plays they run stuff like that within the offense. The defense is just lights out. Only allowing 7 points in the first 3 rounds. They will face their toughezt test to date on saturday. Whoever they play will be better than the millbrook team they played. Clarke lost to millbrook simply because of penalties and not capitalizing on scoring opportunities. They are the last school standing for the winchester area. I hope they pull it out saturday
