Whether they were ready to play or not, doesn't matter at this point. Once my team was out, I was hoping that Union would win because of the experiences we had playing them in the past and I really liked how hard nosed they seemed to be. But what happened is that they couldn't stop the run and their passing game couldn't keep up. That has to be something that you hate HR6, a running team beating a passing team. I guess Clarke should run the spread huh? It is all well and good for someone to have a type of offense they like to see, but to makes tons of posts on how much you like it every year and hoping teams that run the ball lose gets really old after awhile. You have stated in the past that everyone should run spread, spread is best thing ever, teams should throw the ball a lot, etc. One thing that makes football so great is that one persons opinion doesn't make things change, and that teams run what they think can make them the most successful. I would think that teams like Clarke, Riverheads, Giles, Jefferson Forest, Courtland, etc seem to do just fine with the offenses they run and do so very successfully. They may not win a state championship every year, but they are consistently good.
HR6, you seem like a passionate guy about things you want to be passionate about, but you need to give credit where it is due. Wanting people to lose because of what they run isn't good, and these kids work hard all year, but you have your opinions and are entitled to them. I will guarantee you that if a team like Riverheads did what you wanted and switched to spread they would not be as good. You also don't take into account that teams run what they run because that is the coaches philosophy, and they wouldn't be as good if they were to do something else. But I guess in your mind that either they should change their philosophy or bring in a coach who runs a spread? So then people would be losing jobs to benefit you, that would be terrible. I know you love your spread so much because of what Gretna did with it. Did you ever stop and think that the reason Grenta won wasn't because of the spread but because they were better than everyone else? Perfect example is Golden State, you used to hear all the time that teams that shoot so much can win championships because when you are not shooting good you lose, well Golden State did it, WHY? Because of shooting so much where anyone else had failed doing so? NO, because their talent was more equipped to do so and talent was better. How good does shooting a lot work for the Lakers? I am a Laker fan and they are terrible shooting a lot, but Golden State is undefeated this year doing it. Think that has something to do with the Jimmy's and Joe's and not the X's and O's?
