Colonial Beach over Riverheads ?

Franklin beat the by two Tds if you play hard ball like franklin and Sussex they can't stand it I would not even worry just play yawl game and get ready to head out west trust me the got some good players but not on river heads level yawl should kill them in the trenches
Colonial Beach is a well coached, tough team. They have a great running back in Lamar Lucas who has carried the ball many times over the last four years. They run a single wing offense and they are very smooth as they have run it through their little league days on up. They have no quit in them. Their QB has been throwing the ball nicely this season and is a good runner. The wing is also a good runner, and their blocking back will sneak it up in there for a few yards. They are not a big team, but they tackle well. It should be a hard fought game, but I think Riverheads will be too much for them. Riverheads is a sound football team and I am glad I got to see what all the hype was about. Good luck to them the rest of the way, but I will be pulling for the upset in this one since CB represents the old NND.
riversportsfan, so how do you think we compare to the other two left in the East? I have seen a little bit of film on Sussex but the team they were playing was completely overmatched. I think Altavista is talented but the D gets "lost" at times so I was curious of your take if you have seen both.
I was really impressed with Riverheads' style of play. They were way more physical than I expected. They are different than the other side of the east, but the guys from Riverheads will be able to play with anyone. Spreading Riverheads out could make them uncomfortable, but they tackle so well. Bend but don't break style, and when the field gets smaller (redzone) the widows get smaller as well. It is hard to say, because if it is an all east final then the east has beaten some tough teams from the west. I wouldn't bet against Riverheads though.
I was at that game. I tried to worn some of the Altavista fans about what they were up against before the game started. They didn't believe me until the first couple drives was over. Then reality set in....
Sussex may be the better team, but Altavista will be able to match up. I think it will come down to a couple breaks, as most closely matched games do. If the ball bounces Altavista's way and turns into a score or two, then the 1 seed may be in trouble. You never know what will happen on Friday nights. I want to clarify that in no way am I discounting the West teams. There are 8 really good teams left and any of them can win it all. I have an idea what to expect from Galax, GW, and PM but haven't seen FC but understand they wouldn't still be in it without being good. Good luck to everyone and safe travels to all.
Choke? Why can't it be that they lost to a good team? After all Altavista losses came to other playoff teams in other divisions
Sometimes playoff pressure is a little toooooooo much for some 16, 17 years old kids ! Let me say it a little different ! CHOKE !!!!!!!!!!!!! If they are the real deal as I have seen on previous post they don't have to worry . Lets see how they do . You may want to keep an EMT close by just in case .

They beat Essex 23-15 in Essex. Essex scored one TD on defense and another was setup by a turnover inside the 15. CB held Essex to like 50 yards total offense. CB ran for over 300 yards. Not a huge team but very scrappy. I would definitely give the edge to Riverheads but the kids from CB will leave it all on the field. They've run the single wing for years and have multiple weapons but also aren't afraid to put it in the air. For a school of 180 they have around 40 on the football team and have been a very consistent program for a school of their size.

Sussex will be ready...believe me. If they fall short it will be bc Altavista is better but they will be ready. Should be a good game. Either way we'll definitely be proud of our boys.
The Drifters will look somewhat faniliar to the Gladiators. They are a smaller but shiftier version of Buffalo Gap.

I'm having trouble picturing Sussex in the championship. I think they would lose a matchup with GW and may lose this week to Altavista.
