Colonial Heights 20, New Kent 14

Excited to see what C.H. has in store for Appomattox. I like when we take on foes that we never faced before. Hope the stands can hold all the PO1 crew that will be traveling that way. If not, fans will crowd that fence, no worries.

CH has decent visitors bleachers. I would think that they could handle your fans. Dinwiddie travels very well, and we never have issues finding seats for our faithful.

If you were at the game, what grade would you give the Colonials, offense, defense, special teams, and toughness?

I was at the game.

Offense: C. Sputtered a lot in the first half, five turnovers.
Defense: C. Haven't been tested in the air truly yet. New Kent rushed for nearly 300 yards on them.
Special Teams: B. They did well on kickoff returns. Returned both to midfield averaging 35 a return.
Toughness: B. They looked better than what I saw last year. Good mindset for those kids. Biggest problem is them getting back in shape. A lot of cramping along the way.

Thanks. That's about what I would have expected.

If Buzz can hang on long enough to get his system instilled down all the way to the rec league level, he stands a decent chance of having a team each year that can truly be competitive.

He needs to have enough success to keep the kids, and their parents, from becoming disillusioned. The sacrifices he expects from his players, and thus their parents, can quickly bite him he they don't show results.

Of question is, how bad does the Colonial Heights community want a winning football program?

The only drama in this game will be for the App coach deciding when to take his foot off the gas.

I was basically just saying I dont think CH has a chance if they barely beat NK. Cause I have seen NK and they would have a hard time beating a mediocre 1a team, which in fact was what i saw. Nk will have a long season
oh gotcha....well I hope they win some games so Appomattox can get some points from them. they are 4A so.....
