Rod had to lock down a good thread because you went from passoionate to personal. You know better. Argue your point till hell freezes over, but DON'T attack the person. Pick apart their views with facts of your own, but you CAN NOT get personal.

Guys, it's a game. Played by kids. And it's important, but for the right reasons.

You are stupid! How about instead, "you see the facts different than I do".

You haven't been to the game, you moron. "I had the chance to see it live, and I came away with an entirely different take, let me explain".

Bring your butt on down here, I'll meet you at the gate. Maybe have the guts to say: "come be my guest this Friday. Come early and I'll buy the hot dogs. Let's shake hands and talk awhile before the game. After all, it is just a game".

But best of all. How about, "I'm sorry, I got carried away. I was wrong with what I said to you, and I apologize"!

Thank you MVWarrior, but I'm not all that. I just want us all to enjoy each other's company and opinions without someone unnecessarily being attacked personally. Out of respect for everyone else, I try not to respond to someone that is targeting me or anyone else personally. I don't want to dignify their disrespect by engaging them.

(Hell, I already know I'm stupid, I don't need a total stranger to point that out to me.)

If everyone would just be guided by the idea that the person they respect the most in life would be reading every word they write, I think most would be more considerate.

You need to read Mike Salem over on the 4a board when he gets going telling a story. You get all serious and engrossed in what he is saying then he slides in something that almost slips by you. Same as you said. You crack up at the fool. Mainly because Mike is so serious all the time, you just aren't expecting it.

No matter who gets to Lynchburg this year, make plans to be there. I'm sure a bunch of us from the forum will be there as well. I've made some terrific friends as a result of this crazy forum. People I enjoy and trust as much as anybody I have ever known in my life.

And I give a shout out to old Rod. Some may have formed a different opinion of him because he challenges posters to validate what they claim as fact. And of course, he has to met out punishment as it becomes necessary. But I'm here to tell you, he is one terrific man. And if there is anybody that knows more about high school football in Virginia, (other than me of course), than Rod Johnson, I wish he would step forward. If I ever retire, I hope I can troop along with him some and try to absorb just a little of what he knows.

I wouldn't crown them just yet. Phoebus' unfamiliarity with the 3A powers could cause them problems. Of course, it works the other way too as they aren't familiar with the Phantoms either. My point is, there could be an entirely different outcome than we expect. James Monroe, or even Poquoson, might have something for them.
