After a shocking big loss (to some) yesterday to Rapp, two things can happen.

Either 1) NHS uses it as motivation to improve and comes out stronger because of the humbling loss.

Or 2) NHS keeps their head down and collapses.

I have seen both occurrences after big losses many times over the years.

Coach Lewis and his staff have their work cut out for them with no practice time before the next game at 6-1 Northampton on the Eastern Shore.

The Battle of the North (as I like to call it for GOT fans).

Games on the Eastern Shore are unpredictable - Northampton has a new better QB than the last game - They want to make a name for themselves - and they are fighting for playoff position. Plus, Northampton is a good team.

The Indians can still finish 9-1 which is the best record since 1996 I believe. Indians need have home field in the playoffs as the Northumberland is undefeated under Coach Lewis at home.

Passing game has been way off of late - communication issues.

Fix secondary... need discipline - all those flags (a field of yellow, some good calls, others ehhh?) yesterday destroyed several great plays and drives v Rapp.

1. Keep the most dynamic playmaker in region A AT Qb, he should have the ball in his hands 90% of snaps.
2. Put in some new wrinkles on Offense, the NN has some very bright coaches they are aware of your offense.
3. PRAY for dry weather you are like a sports car fast and very good on dry track , in the playoffs you will face programs who perform like John Deere Tractors that welcomes nasty weather ( Rappahanock).
4. Put it on PALMER !

You make some good points.

The NND is blessed with some excellent coaching (and ADs).

I do find this interesting - many if not all Rapp fans all season have tried to say (and ridicule) all Northumberland has is Palmer and is nothing without him.

NHS went 7-0 with Palmer and many other stars (Saunders, Davis, Adams, Lee, Redman, Morris, and others) contributing.

Rapp won yesterday with Gaines and Gaines and Gaines again (plus some help from others).

All teams at all levels must use their main weapon to win....plus those around him.

I will say imo Palmer must return to the free safety position. Palmer and Saunders used to get a couple or more interceptions a game.

Now that they have been moved - the other coaches have studied the tape.

They never throw to Palmer's side and rarely near Saunders. Too many big plays allowed recently.

Juan Thornhill (of 1A Virgina fame) is UVA' s most athletic D player - he plays free safety for a reason. Pics and plays all day.

Palmer is a great athlete but takes to many plays off to be labled most dynamic player in Region A. His stats dont even back that

A Player like Palmer must have the touches or else they get bored, Dude is a threat to score whenever he has the ball, Northumberland must coach better or else expect an early playoff exit.

Dang that escalated quickly. Potential to host through out playoffs to early exit off of loss.

Tough critics but I agree playmakers should get touches. Without any knowledge of who the young man you speak of is, I don’t like the best athlete being the QB. I would rather him get the ball in space and create from there, unless he is dynamic enough with power and vision to play where it is crowded. I say that only because someone mentioned him at QB. He might be the perfect choice but in my opinion that’s not the only option with a player that has above an average skill set.

One player will never beat a balanced team like Rappahannock. Also Gaines is very good but Rappahannock has some good talent around him & it showed yesterday. I must say the O-Line & D-Line won the game yesterday for Rappahannock. Hands down Rapp was the better team yesterday. That's all Folks

I fully agree but considering what Northumberland has that concept in my opinion gives them the best chance to win a ball game. If im correct he was at qb earlier during the season, then he was moved wr.

1) Let me make perfectly clear that I think NHS Coach Lewis and staff have done an outstanding job in turning Indian Football around. I support them 100%.

2) I also think I was quite clear that Rapp played a fantastic game and was the better team yesterday. We (NHS) got our butts kicked.

3) Rapp's O line and D line played great. I think it was Rapp's D. Butler that had a magnificent game.

4) Anyone who doesn't think that Rapp's Gaines was a beast and played awesome is nuts. IMO no one player (with the help of his team, of course) has dominated more against Northumberland this season.

5) My point was if people wanna say Palmer wins by himself than what about Gaines from Rapp or Dameron from Essex.

6) Call it excuses if you want but playing in the mud and drizzle helps and power team over a team that relies more on speed. Also, it may be a different game if it is played in normal conditions on a Friday with a normal routine. Maybe not. Maybe we will see. Some teams do better than others with a change of routine.

Ask the Riverheads coach if he likes to keep a routine...I betcha he does.

Rappahannock Coaching Staff did a great Job game planning Offense, Defense & Special Teams. I was impressed with the play calling on Offense. Defense had two picks by #7 & #3 also several tackles for loss & #72 stayed in the backfield. But to say that Northumberland has more to speed than Rappahannock I don't think that's true. Discipline Football wins BIG games just remember that.

Field conditions didn’t play to Northumberland strengths and Rapp’s defense was prepared. Props to Rapp. Gaines is and will be a problem for the next 2 years. I don’t think Northumberland should put Palmer at QB, he’s better off getting the ball in space.
Problem is they arent getting him the ball
