Here is what I thought I understood about the format:
1) Riverheads hosting Stonewall tonight in the only quarter-final game since Highland does not have a varsity team.
2) Winner of that game traveling to Altavista Wednesday night and William Campbell traveling to Luray the same night.
3) Those two winners then meeting at the highest seed on Friday night for the conference title, with both then advancing to the regionals.
But our local paper says that for both the boys and girls, there is also a consolation game preceding the championship game. So does anyone know if that is true, because if it is, then that would likely mean that four teams out of a six-team conference would go on to regional play and that just doesn't sound logical. I can and will ask our AD tonight, but I thought one of you might clear it up for me prior to that.
