Congrats to Riverheads..............

I consider coach Jefferson a friend and was pulling for Sussex but I knew they were in for something they did not encounter this year. I knew that because I saw Riverheads with my own two eyes and formed an immediate opinion that they were one well-oiled, disciplined, hard-nosed team. Nowadays lots of kids like to hit but not be hit. Once they start getting hit they get soft and they don't hit back quite as hard as they did previously. I witnessed none of that when I saw Riverheads. Those kids just kept coming and coming and coming no matter the circumstances. One of the best Group 1A/A teams I've seen in quite some time.
Sussex had a great run, will get their top player back from injury and maybe they will be next season's Riverheads.

Just a physically dominating team. Just a well oiled machine on both sides of the ball. Not the biggest, not the fastest but they are the best.

Great kids and athletes at riverheads but hands down HS sports has as much to do with coaching as anything . Coaching makes a big difference at this level. Riverheads has one of the best staffs in the land.

They were better than Sussex today. We could not stop them. Officiating didnt lose the game for us...we just were not ready for what they were gonna do. Physically they overwhelmed us. Great team.
