As we prepare for a season with/without football, I'm interested in what you want to see more of? Game stories and analysis will be available at some point.

For now, would you like to see...more discussion/opinion, more recruiting content, etc?

Anything but what’s on “reading between the lines !!!” It’s like looking at CNN and FOX corespondents go at it on a HS football blog - disgusting and it isn’t funny anymore- the career politicians And media have done their job and convinced both sides the other is trying to end life as they know it - pathetic to see them all fall in -hook line and sinker to whatever side they prescribe too - not one original thought amoung them - this isn’t the place go to facebook Instagram and twitter to have these stupid arguments-

I SECOND THAT!!! I was a political science major undergrad 25 plus years ago and have taught US Government for 20 plus years. These silly crazy political discussions on this board were absolutely ridiculous and have no place. Please more about recruiting, profiles on schools and coaches, debates about teams or all time teams.. All time great players.... Anything but that STUPID THREAD ABOUT POLITICS! It was pointless. If we want political propaganda we can go to Fox News/Fox Business or CNN/MSNBC. Please eliminate all political threads.

Agree. I hold a double major Political science and History with a minor in Economics. Taught 34 years of US Govt. also have coached football for over 36 years. These boards are for football and sports not political arguments.

And yet, you all kept reading it. It is one thread of hundreds on this board. Some folks hijacked it and kept trying to inject politics into a discussion. If it offended you that much but you had to keep going back and read it, then maybe the problem is with you instead of the topic. Again, if the moderators of this board thought it was out of line, then they would have taken it down. If enough people didn't report it and request it be removed, then what was the harm? All you have to do is ignore it. Just because something offends you, doesn't mean it offends everyone else.

I found nothing offensive at all. I get political debate but that is not what this board is for. Got to Fox News or MSNBC. You want to debate politics go on facebook and argue with millions of Americans. I have been on this board for 20 years and there is no need for ridiculous political debate. Love reading content about VA High School football at all levels. Love the recruiting information and I like to read about pre season previews. As I suggested we can discuss great teams in VA history or great players. Best game in VA history, best players we may have coached against. But that silly political stuff needs to stay on Facebook. That thread totally jumped the shark a long time ago.

How about a few "Where are they now?" stories. Most of us know about the guys that made it to the NFL, but how about those kids that were killing it in high school, but couldn't quite get that break at the next level, or injured, or made a slight misstep? Or chose a coaching path?

Virginia has had some remarkable high school football players through the years. It would be pretty cool to know where some are today, 20, 30, 40 years after they graduated high school.

I thought the recruiting information was reserved for the gold ticket members? It would be nice to see more information.

And I'll second the political discussions. Please....can we just give it a rest? I barely use social media anymore because of the level of putrid hate being spewed. By EVERYONE. It isn't one sided.

Point taken.

It’s not really the posters’ fault either. Yes this is a high school sports board, but the moderators should’ve taken it down a while back if it was that much of a problem.

Ha - if we all keep our sense of humor we will be alright - when Clarke fan and Louisa 540 get together they will realize they are not that different- I have the benefit of having a dad very high up in politics and being able to sit and listen to him and some names youd recognize now talk about how to spin arguements and win votes - I am jaded to say the least - my concern is that the media has now picked a side depending on what channel you watch - be clear politicians want pay raises and re-elections nothing more - But make no mistake in the 80s and 90s it was still about getting the media to spin yourSide of the tale of woe victory or anything they wanted you to believe

this board is about my second passion high school football - In my opinion it is an American dream maker - turning hard work talent and drive into an education that leads to generational change -

can we please keep this board about HS programs and athletes

I just heard from a coach friend that every Loudoun County school was at a “private” camp the last 4 days in Leesburg - basically every LC school and their coaching staffs on the field getting ready to play -

What does anyone know about that or the announcement coming next week?

I saw a picture of a coach taking a player's temperature at practice. He was using a forehead zapper, but he was so close, he might as well have used a rectal thermometer.

Several D3 conferences have canceled football this year. Ivy league canceled and now Big 10 only going conference games and we are being told that is the tip of the iceberg. I highly doubt there will be a fall high school football season. Especially up north.

You must be from up around where I live. There was a picture in today's Winchester Star of a Clarke County Football coach scanning a kid's forehead with a temperature thermometer thingamajig.

I've talked to two Superintendents, one from a NOVA area division and the other from a more central Va division and both said they do not see any close contact sports happening until at least January.

Personally, I could see golf happening, but not much else. Even in cross country...how do you pass another runner if you have to practice social distancing? The only way we will see sports is if all regulations are lifted. If pro and million dollar budget colleges can't work it out, how can we expect no budget and zero trained high schools to?

For sports like cross country, they could shorten the season a bit. Viruses don't do well in moist/humid air, especially outdoors, including coronaviruses. Maybe shorten the season and be done once the cooler/drier air sets in. Since the kids are constantly moving and sweating, I don't think it'll be much of a problem. Even shortened, the kids will be glad to just get out and do something with their friends. A big factor will be testing, it's still bad. Availability is better, but it still takes at least 5+ days for most people to get test results back.

Great Idea. Any names at the top your list?

Thank you! That's my exact point to those who are in denial.

If you were going to do a where are they now story, I would be curious to know what Danny Davis of Rustburg, has been up to since his playing days. The first HS game I ever saw was the 1987 State championship game between Rustburg and James Monroe. I think he may have graduated in 89. He was a heck of a RB/LB. I think he is the best VA HS Football player I have ever seen. @bigrob2523

Oh mercy....
Zindenberg (from Poquoson)
Dyrell Roberts (Smithfield) - I know where he is... :)
Those Rose kids from Amherst ...who were STELLAR
Brad Uhl from Tabb when Terry Kirby and Chris Slade were tearing it up, but he was a huge piece of that team also.
Sooooooo many names.
Rob, you couldn't possibly touch all, but hitting a few would be really cool. I hope other readers would chime in also, from all across the state. I'm geographically partial - obviously.
