Not much to say but that it was Spotsy! Hopefully sometime in the near future things will turn around for them. They were just painfully terrible in every phase of the game.

The Hall of famer, the new AD at Spotsy will not retain Johnson. Johnson has not built any type of relationships with the players or the community, and it shows on the field. I can only imagine what the AD thinks of the Spotsy coaching staff after being around Coach Brown. Johnson should resign after the Chancellor, he is not capable of running or building a middle of the pack high-school football program, Orange would not give him a shot and no one else should.

Really harsh and just not right. Time and experience makes a Coach. Knowing the game and knowing how to Coach are two completely different things. Pick a good man and have patience. It will come and Coleman is tutoring.

Knee jerk solutions never work. Best if luck to the Knights.

if Coleman is truly lending a hand, what ever his is doing is surely not paying dividends. Spotsy had 50 yards of total offense, and Courtland gave them 25 of that via penalty. They could not run, throw, snap the ball, kick the ball, punt the ball(well maybe punt) they punted 8 times, although two of them were partially blocked and the rest were under heavy heavy pressure. Spotsy had several false starts, and on a few occasions player ran into each other. We stopped firing the cannon when Courtland got up by 30 points,a little side note, I felt like I was at Louisa. Courtland had really neat fireworks (all Courtland colors) after each score, and they too were stopped after the game got out of hand.

This was Spotsy. Can't make any judgement on that.

Trust the program. I'm telling you, this is not close to a State Champion team but this may be JC Hall's finest year.

We have to give Johnson a fair shot! we did the game on tv and Spotsy was what I said they was all year! They have very little talent. They are very small with no speed and not to be hard on my boys from post oak but these players probably wouldn't be second string on a average team! Now this is not Johnsons fault! He was left with a program that quite frankly was a disaster since Coleman left 15 years ago with coaches that IMO was not qualified to be varsity coaches! He lost 4 or five players to the hazing crime some would have been all district not Johnson fault! We must give him time I say at least 2 more years! No improvement by then I will agree a change should be made!
Now let me say this. I haven't talked to the principal or AD on this matter but from all reports these two are not going to put up with what has happened out there the last 15 years! No more Buddy Buddy system out their but I still believe if Johnson don't pan out a veteran coach that has program building experience that can bring a couple assistant coaches where he comes from rather that keep the same old assistants or have to do with what is at the school. Every coach hired since Coleman have been non experienced head coaches and you may go through 10 before you get 1 and by that time the program is in shammels like it is now! The mistake was made about 6 years ago when I had 30 coaches some veteran playoff coaches applied and not 1 was interviewed and the Buddy Buddy system took over and another in experienced coach got hired and the rest is history! So we need to be patient with Johnson and give him a fair chance! He has had two years as of now and some improvement needs to be made in the next 2 years or a replacement needs to be approved!

I agree with what you are saying. I grew up going to Spotsy games in the middle to late 70's and hope they can turn the corner and get back to being relevant and not just a check the box win for the other guys! Now for Courtland, they have tinkered some with personnel and different packages. They have added a new Full Back to the back field in Christian Coleman, all 6'1 250 lbs of him, the kid is a load and runs very hard. His emergence and subtle changes within the offense has ignited things for them. We will see how the KG game goes at home, I think we may fall a little short as I believe they have just a few more athletes this year than we do. I believe that we will get by JM in one heck of a game, our running game I think will eventually overwhelm and tire JM out.. Courtland will also beat Caroline at home. So 5-5 if that happens would be a great season for this group, and by far JC's best coaching performance with a lot of at a boy's for his assistant coaches.
