Most of Courtlands JV team is up on varsity this year as they are playing a ton of Freshman on JV. If Courtland had not been so devastated by graduation at the end of last year, most of these kids would be down on the JV learning the system, growing, getting stronger and gaining confidence. However, coach Hall had no choice this year but to play a bunch of youngsters at every position, including all of the skill positions, When this happens, and you play the schedule that they play you are in for a rough on the job training session. The thing that the Cougars have going for them is that they have a great stable coaching staff who will get everything they can out of this years team. This group (team) is very close and I can not wait until they are seniors. The JV team has a bunch of very good exciting freshman that will be impact players in the not so distant future. Furthermore, the middle schools that feed Courtland are just flat out loaded with young talented players. I have been to a few of their games and came away very excited about what will be coming up in a year or two. Courtland is fielding the youngest team both Varsity or JV in the past 25 years, they have been very lucky over the years to not get decimated with graduation losses like they did this past season. They usually had enough coming back each year to overcome graduation losses, with the exception of 2016! Mark my words, they will be playoff good next year, and highly regarded the following year. Stand by!!
