Cox defeats Norview 64-51 in the 9th annual VirginiaPreps Classic. Sophomore Tayvion Robinson scored 29 points to lead the Falcons.
The game was tied 30-30 at halftime but eight 3rd quarter points from Robinson helped Norview to a 46-36 lead with a minute to go in the 3rd quarter. Robinson added 11 more points in the final quarter as Cox led by as much as 16 points before coasting to the win.
The 1st half was fast paced and saw each team take the lead. Cox lead 19-13 after the 1st quarter and led 30-23 with two minutes to go. Norview ended the half on a 7-0 run to tie the score at 30 going into the halftime break.
Cox big man Kevin Nicholson added 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Falcons who improved to 7-8 on the season. Kavon James nailed four treys while scoring 14 points and four assists. Norview was led by Jalen Rowell who scored all 12 of his points on four 4th quarter 3-pointers. D.J Mack had seven points and eight rebounds and William Steger had nine assists.
