Hey Gtown or any other knowledgeable soul:

Whenever I make the trip to either Page or East Rock for a game, I try to stop at Log Cabin Bar b q. But I am about 90% certain they are closed on Tuesdays, which ruins my plan for our game at Page.

So my question is this......didn't I read that something else was opening in the old McDonald's location in Shenandoah? If so, what is it and has it opened yet?

Also I assume that the diner located north of town on 340 is still open? I tried it once and found it OK. Any other ideas I might not be considering?

A Burger King just opened up yesterday in the old McDonalds there in Shenandoah. Hoping it does well for the community.

Yes, Northside Diner is still open on the north end of town. On the south end of town is Mamma Mia's, which is an Italian place that is pretty good. Us XC and track coaches usually stop there after a Wednesday meet.

Also have Subway, Romano's Italian, Thunderbird Café, and Hanks there in McGaheysville on the way. Or you can head on down 33 to Elkton and stop somewhere such as Ciro's Italian, BK, El Paso, DQ, Subway, Goodfellas subs, McDonalds, and then head up 340.

Have a safe trip!

So many options!!!! I have never tried Hanks there in McGaheysville. Would you recommend it? What is their claim to fame? I actually tried Thunderbird once, expecting to like it and only found it to be so-so. Burger King might win out in the long run depending on how rushed I am. But I do like something different when I have the time, since I could hit a BK any old day.

Thanks for the input. I will throw some popcorn down at you tonight to throw you off your game!!!

Gotta go for Good Fellas, Ciros or El Paso (Mex) if you want good food and great service. They are owned by the same people and always provide a good meal. Hanks... not so much. Very overpriced for what you get and seems like we always end up with a server with a don't give a shite attitude. The out of towners from Massanutten keep Hanks in business.

I will take your word for it regarding Hanks and give that a pass. I also will skip all the Elkton options because I come in on 33 East and take the shortcut through to Shenandoah. So going all the way into Elkton would defeat my purpose.

So as of the moment, I am leaning toward the old reliable BK, the diner, or maybe Mamma Mia's since I do like me some Italian....(he says that as he stares at the three pieces of chocolate on his desk!)

Thanks for all your input.
