The very first Dinwiddie High School football team to take the field will be recognized and honored pre-game at this week's playoff game. In 1965, 30 kids took the field, albeit someone else's field, because there was no Dinwiddie football field that year.
Of those 30 young men, 24 are still alive today, as is their head coach, George Rapp. Many still live in or around Dinwiddie. At last count, 15 of these original players plan to attend Friday night.
