Nick Anderson has to put him in at QB. Two very bad plays by the QB that should’ve been 6. Salem doing what they do best.
Salem 13-zip end 1st quarter. 81 yard broken play QB run and blown coverage play action pass to set up TD run. GW shooting themselves in the foot.Score?
GW moved the ball on first series. After that punt team has been best play. Pinned Salem inside 3 twice and scored on fumbled snap.Different year, same outcome so far. GW moving the ball and stopping Salem. Can’t establish any consistency.
I said believe it when I see it. Glad I didn't waste my Friday night in Salem to see a non competitive game. Same story, different year.Salem 48-14 4th quarter
Region 4D:
1. Salem
Then Everybody else
They get us every time like we have a chance...NOPEIt's pretty amusing at this point watching Salem rope-a-dope everyone during the regular season only to remind people of the pecking order come November. They even dupe Salem fans a lot of the time (including this fan some seasons). I hesitate to cheapen all the months of work by saying they just flip a switch but it definitely seems that way.
When was last time Salem didn't win the region in Football?
Can confirm. That is one of the best HS defenses I've ever seen.Salems defense was really good. Don't think Danville sees any defense that comes close to what they see when they play Salem
He has a scholarship offer to VSU, & 2 PWO at Fordham and LU.Some small school is going to luck up when they put together a financial aid package for #42. Like me, he is a Dude.
If you were a little more familiar with the program you would realize that the talent level in the pipeline looks like an absolute reload situation.Congrats to Salem. If you are able to win is again I believe it will be on the strength of your defense and the timely passing game you showed last night.
Logan, no doubt is a stud and he ended up getting his catches but it was the TE (14) down the middle early that caught our Eagles off guard.
For the most part GW stopped your run game. It wasn’t until the 4th quarter that a tired and demoralized defense gave up big chunks in the run game.
The departing seniors at GW will be missed and next season will be a bit of a rebuild but make no mistake, there is no shortage of athletes in Danville.
The staff and program will kick its wounds, take some time off then get back to work. The out of district schedule will be tough next year and if GW struggles early there will be many who will write them off but come playoff time they will be there and they won’t be the same team in November that they may appear to be in August. That will be because of good coaching.
Salem loses a lot too. If I counted right there were 8 seniors that started on defense last night. Some of those like 11, 14 and 8 are also offensive starters. Throw in the loss of 28 who is also graduating acouple of OL and there will be holes to fill there too.
I know your JVs went undefeated but there is a huge difference in Thursday night and Friday night.
Enjoy your ride. We wish it was us but time will tell if you reload or rebuild next season.
