Beaten by another running team...Altavista, because they sure as hell can't pass it with regular success. Thornhill is one of the worst passing qb's around. Just because they run a "spread" offense doesn't mean they are a passing team. A passing team they absolutely are not.
The colonels played one of the worst games of their season, offensively. 35-10 win over an extremely underrated PM team is an incredible victory in itself.
Yeah, who would want a quarterback that was 48-for-71 on the season with 939 yards, 9 touchdowns and NO picks? And that is in like 26 quarters of play this season for Thornhill.
I was at the game. The Altavista defense was th deal. 3 turnovers including the pouch kick on Altavista offense. Do dint let PM score on those. Altavista is the deal
Very true . One thing about a spread team that the wing nuts don't realize is when you you spread the field with 4 WRs, it opens up middle of field for running plays. much easier to run ball effectively out of spread than putting QB under center.
QB should only be under center when taking a knee in victory formation.
I have a feeling it's going to be a looong week of practice for the Colonels, just too many mistakes on the offensive side of the ball last night. It is a freakin joke that the Colonels may have to travel again this year for a chance to get to Salem....just a complete crock.
seems to me it's a lot more impressive when those wing nut teams can open up running lanes with 22 guys piled into as little piece of real estate as possible.
