It is a little eerie how quiet the conversation has been on this game. Two teams that are highly ranked in each of their classifications facing off tonight. Both have had 16 days to prepare, hopefully both teams are healthy, and I think the field and conditions shouldn't play much factor. It is going to come down to who wants it more in my opinion. Gut check time in Maury Stadium @ 7 pm. Who is ready for some Monday Night Football?!?!

Essex 35
James Monroe 28

Field conditions should be ok for the most part. We lucked up and didn't get the rains for the hurricane. pretty much had 2 1/2 days with very little to no rain in the area. Just some light breeze. Just as you said riversportsfan, very quiet with conversation on this game. Even on the 3A board. This is the 1 regular season game I picked to go either way. Pissed that it couldn't be played on a Friday. Mainly cause I'll be at work tonight. LETS GO TROJANS!!!!!!

James Monroe is a very good team, and I wish them the best of luck for the rest of their season. Essex didn't look like normal Essex tonight. I think a lot of it had to do with how James Monroe played, but there were miscues on almost every drive and you can't have them when playing a team like James Monroe. Hopefully they will get cleaned up and get ready to make a run.

Obviously, James Monroe looked pretty sharp and Essex looked like the long layoff hurt them. It was 14-6 just before halftime when James Monroe scored on a 4th-and-16 play. Then they had a bad snap on the conversion kick and turned it into a 2-pointer that made it 22-6. That pretty much ended Essex's hopes.
