Forfeit ? But play someone else?

They (k&q,middlesex) both needed another game because of Charles City canceling their season. My guess would be that Middlesex knew that they would lose to kw. Might have done it as a courtesy to kw so no players got hurt in a blowout game. Just guessing.
King William lost Charles City too, king and queen has forfeited last two years. Not right that 3 of your district games just don’t happen. The kids need to play , very hard finding teams to play this late in the season. Middlesex forfeited turned around and played King and Queen. Vhsl needs to fix this, change the district.
I think region A, class 1 and 2 need some realignment. Teams forfeiting vs KW, schools not fielding teams, CC and K+Q for half of '17, or playing half schedules like Bruton. The NND the only district that isn't mixed and everyone is able to be somewhat competitive and agree to play the full district schedule each year.
TRD is moving to B but has a huge descrepancy from 1A Surry to 3A Park View all required to play eachother.
Tidewater has a solid 2A and WP then several poor teams.
(Also my unpopular opinion is that if KW would treat Middlesex and K+Q like WP did they may be open to playing them but the last time K+Q played KW it seemed KW was trying to hang 100 on them. Don't blame a coach or administration for not subjecting their KIDS to that.)
Finally you have the ESD with 4 teams, 2 1A and 2 2A, but 1 team won't play the other 3 and that leaves teams to find 8 non district games and many years those teams go home and home to fill their schedule.
I don't know the solution of how to realign because travel is the leading factor but it would be nice if the other 3 districts resembled the Northern Neck. They do a nice job

Of course we're talking football here, but does KW dominate the Tidewater in most other sports (male and female)? K&Q and Mathews have neglected their football football programs for so long it's gonna take a long time before they are competitive. Middlesex has a coach with a proven track record, but they are simply going through a down period as far as football athletes are concerned. Might take them a while to get back to being competitive as well.

A few years ago KW played Middlesex final score was something like 89-6 with 1st team in the entire game except for maybe a few drives. The very next year Middlesex had kids falling out on the field purposely. Later on one of the seniors that year told us coach told the boys to do so. Obviously vhsl needs to makes some changes. We need some competition as do other schools. I just don’t think laying down to another team is sending the right message to these kids though. Bruton hardly has a team this year wanted to forfeit but from what I understand talks amongst the coaches influenced them to play anyway. As a parent of a player I want to see my kid and his team play as much as possible especially if it’s his senior year. Our boys have had 3 buy weeks. Tbh that sucks. Don’t know what the answer is here but it needs to be addressed soon.

My solution for KW is to form a new 2A/3A district with Richmond area schools: John Marshall, TJ, GW, Armstrong, Goochland, Maggie Walker, New Kent.
I'm guessing it's the principle of it, as I believe KW did play, but not playing this game actually helps KW for power points I believe

Ding ding ding, this sounds like a winner! Even though I recall KW coaches on here during the summer asking if anyone in D1 had an open date to play them. Not sure why they wanted a school from D1 to play..cannon fodder I guess? No one wants to play a school that will actively attempt to run up 100 on them. And why K&Q is expected to play them just points out the largest fallacy of the VHSL's current system.
