This forum has been dead this year. Very disappointing as there used to be allot of good conversation by slot of good posters in here . There use to be posters from Chillhowie to Narrows , PM to Essex now hardly anyone. Where did everyone go. Has RH dominance caused this ? Thoughts

I think it has a lot to do with covid. With all the forfeits and games just getting cancelled doesnt seem you can really get into the flow of the season not knowing week to week who is playing and who isnt. In the spring you had several regions and schools opting not to have a season. The playoffs and championships , even the regular season seemed kind of tainted since so many schools were absent. If every school participated would we still have had the same champions? We will never know, I really dont think its a RH issue because the conversation on the boards is down in all the classifications it seems. Maybe next season we can get back to a normal again without so many cancellations and postponements.

Agreed about the board being dead this year and some of it probably has to do with covid. The southwest va board has alot more participation on it than this one.

I think the boards are following the same line as the actual participation levels on the field. It is all a trickle down effect, participation is across all divisions, in return most of the stands aren't as packed as years past, and it definitely has had an effect on boards like this. Take into account its hard to find info on most teams now unless you use Facebook or twitter. Most schools do not update, if they have one, their actual website with any info. As a whole, HS football for the most part, seems to have lost something over the past decade and its quite concerning.

To add a couple more possible causes to the discussion...........parents are more worried than ever before about concussions and the lasting effect that they can sometimes have and therefore may forbid their kids from playing..........and kids in general have soooooo many more interests and temptations than they used to so the appeal and prestige of playing sports is not what it used to be.
