GC 67 Floyd County 43 (Chance Harmon Game)

Floyd County was on fire from deep in the first half and hit 5 for 5 from deep in their first 5 shots of the game. GC is cold from deep yet again and not rebounding the ball at all. GC leads at the half 34-28 in a real sloppy game. Floyd is lights out right now....Hats off to them.

GC finally picking up the pace a little bit from deep and rebounding the ball a little better thanks to George. GC leads 67-39 with 4:12 left in the 4th.

Bench clears at the 4 minute mark. Final score: 67-43

I must say without question...you won't find a better person than Coach Harmon. He is one very special man. Hard to find someone that truly loves helping others as much as him. He's all about giving back to people and helping them any way he can. He's as genuine as they come.....It's a shame there's not very many people like him. All the money from the game tonight was donated to two young kids in the GC community that are battling cancer. Was a blessing to be a part of the game tonight and to get to hear Coach Harmon speak after it was over. Keep up the work Coach....Everyone in SWVA appreciates what your doing and your a blessing to all of us. The Chance Harmon Memorial Foundation does wonderful work!

Obviously the matchups are a little different, but it's interesting to see a matchup with a common opponent of the Bulldogs. Does seem a bit odd that the GC reserves didn't score at all in the last 4 minutes though.

GC held the ball for the biggest portion of those 4 mins. GC normally runs blue high which is a motion offense without any attempt to score when they are up by that margin....No matter if it's backups or not. They did take 3-4 shots but that's about it and a few of those was from some players that never see the court.

The Devils aren't playing good basketball like they were a few weeks into the season though. They are second guessing themselves and lack confidence right now for some reason. Could be a short lived post season if they don't get it together.

Gate City was a better team at the start the season. They might be a top 5 team right now, but they might not be too. They have two or three players that can flat out score but not a total team. rebounding, defense and movement of the ball is just missing. Union is getting better every game. Just saying.

I think GCs last solid performance was against Daniel Boone at home. That's probably the best I seen them play this year. Was expecting them to get better and better and it's not happened....Yet at least. They've not got much time left to get it together.

I don't disagree with any of what you said. They might or might not be Top 5. Id about guarantee they aren't #1 and probably not Top 3.....Top 5 is feasable. And I'm sure your right...Union is getting better too. But GC played pretty poor as a team against Union....Mac was the only player doing anything. Yet they still managed to win by 13. If GC will get it back together and play like they were playing earlier in the season they won't have much to worry about....At least not in SWVA.
