Someone following the points might break this down more than I can at this time. I figure if Glenvar wins, they maintain the #1 seed, barring being upset by Radford, putting Giles at probably #4. If Giles wins, Glenvar probably ends up #2 and Giles #3. either way, that's a rd. 2 rematch, if both take care of business in rd.1. Probably the key game will be the Gretna/DR game as to who gets the other top 4 seed, assuming as we all do, Appo wins out. Am I right or am I missing something?

The 4 seed is likely Floyd and even if Giles loses to Glenvar and wins its final game, and assuming Floyd wins its final two games in which its heavily favored, I have Giles Still, but barely outpointing Floyd for the 3 seed. Dan River has 3 50-50 games left, but if they win out, they jump Floyd and Giles for the 3 seed (assuming Giles loss to Glenvar).

Just ran some numbers. If Giles loses to Glenvar and beats Alleghany as expected, and Floyd wins both games over J. River and Alleghany, Giles still outpoints them barely. For Floyd to finish ahead of Giles, it would require some craziness by both teams to opponents records in the last couple of games and that ain't happening.

Therefore, the way I calculated it, if Giles loses to Glenvar, they still outpoint Floyd and are likely the 3 seed and NOT the 4, which means in week 2, Giles travels to Appo. Also, I calculated Dan River. If DR wins all 3 final games and Giles loses to Glenvar, D. River absolutely Does pass Giles to be the 3 seed and Giles is the 4, and in this scenario, a likely week 2 rematch with Giles and Glenvar.

Therefore, if Giles is ones focus, forget about what Floyd does. if Giles loses to Glenvar, they likely need Dan River to win out (all 3 final games) to avoid traveling to Appo in round two. It's also unlikely for DR to win all 3. They could lose em or win them as they have W. Campbell, Gretna, and also travel to an improving Martinsville team. Odds are, they lose 1 of these. As of right now, it actually looks more likely (in my opinion) for a Giles at Appo matchup in round two instead of a Giles vs Glenvar rematch.

There will be several rematches come playoff time. Which I do not like, no matter the teams involved. When playoffs start you should play teams you have not played in regular season.

Looks like a lot of rematches this year possible. 6 teams out of 2 districts likely to make the playoffs in region C

I would much rather play a rivalry like Giles or someone close in the playoffs than some team like Gate City or Union, especially in the first two rounds. Those folks down there probably would rather play each other rather than come all the way up here as well. Closer games mean more people attending from both fan bases, more excitement, less expensive travel for schools and fans, no time missing school and work, etc. etc. Sometimes trying to seed the brackets "fairly" kills the goose that lays the golden egg. I like the region winners playing the other region winners as well and it makes a Region Championship and All Region mean something.
