I always love it when Giles is in the mix come playoff time. Glenvar seemed to have the matchup versus them the last 2 years with Glenvar being their only losses the last 3 years. Take away Glenvar, could Giles have won 3 strait? I know that's tough. From what I have seen Giles' best team of the past 3 years was probably last year. But how does Giles stack up against the rest of the West this year if Glenvar was sort of their Achilles heel with the defensive line and the familiarity of the single wing?

Why ask a question that is impossible to answer...didn't answer with a win vs glenvar in a second attempt so it doesn't matter...if it's and buts were candy and nuts every day would be like Christmas....last year I think Giles could have won the state game against that team....but who knows...not even a debatable question....we had our shot....sucks but it is what it is
I personally think Giles would have been a better match up for us then Glenvar. Our defense last year, same as Glenvars, had too much speed and too many athletes.

Here's the thing though.....opinions are like farts...everyone let's em out...and most of them stink....every game is different...sometimes teams just have a bad day....lots of factors determine the outcomes of games....once your team loses the rest is irrelevant...all speculation....woulda..coulda..shoulda...I do it every time giles loses...for a couple days...then I let it go as best I can
I think last years Giles team wins the state if not for Glenvar but just my opinion.

I know that Giles is consistently a good football team year in and year out. What are the jv and middle school teams like on a year to year basis?
I have always said that Giles is a powerhouse and I wish the students in Appomattox would commit to sports like Giles does for football. We got a bunch of D 2 scholarships roaming our halls. Many of them want to get a job, get lazy, hang on the streets, or girlfriend gets them off track in sports when they get to high school. I think coach told me one time that the senior class we have today in the Raiders is at 10 and 30+ played JV or Varsity.
I salute Giles and Riverheads (Now 1A though) for having such a small school population and yall continue to have powerhouse teams.
