Leah Kestner added a dynamic new chapter to her marvelous high school athletic career Wednesday night as the Chilhowie standout reached 1,000 career points by setting a new single-game program record with a 39-point effort to lead the Warriors to a 69-67 victory over Fort Chiswell in a non-district contest.
Kestner broke the previous single-game mark of 37 points set by Danielle Catron, who as a senior led Chilhowie to the 2014 VHSL Class 1A state championship.
