Eagles win their first Conference 36 tournament championship.

East Rock hosts Strasburg Friday, while Wilson hosts Central Woodstock Friday in 2A East opener

After watching both games last night, East Rock has got to be the favorite out of the east bracket. They were on a different level than the other 3 teams last night. Some of that can be attributed to home court advantage I suppose but they looked really impressive. Anything less than a Final Four appearance will be a surprise at to me.

The Lee/SD game was actually quite a game, which shocked me. SD was MUCH better than the Lee Ladies early in the year so I honestly figured this would be a blowout coming into the game, and when SD went on that big run in the first half, I thought we'd see a repeat of what happened last week vs East Rock, but the Lee Ladies battled back and actually had some chances to win the game.

I think all 4 of the conference 36 teams have the potential to win their first round matchups, but SD, Lee, and Wilson are a little tough to figure out for me right now. Lee and Wilson are pretty up and down squads, as they'll show that they can compete with the big dogs one night, then lay an egg or play down to the competition the next. Draft is good, but there are some weaknesses to that squad that can be exploited, particularly in the post. Best of luck to all four teams though!
