These two results will sort of dampen the spirits of local girls fans and neutral observers for Saturday. The two boys' semis should be great, but it would have been nice to have had at least one of our local girls teams make it to the game that will be played between those two. Oh well, maybe Eastside and Floyd will give us a good enough game to make me eat those words.

As they reported on the news tonight, it was almost a complete washout for Valley fans today as Riverheads lost in 1-A, and the Spotswood boys lost down at VCU. That leaves the Lee boys and the Broadway girls as the only Valley teams left who can bring home a state title.
