So much for home field advantage! After dropping a surprising 8-2 home game to the Luray Bulldogs just last Thursday, Riverheads rebounded Tuesday night by pounding those same Dogs on the road 13-2. I was not able to attend but according to one local source, Colt Miller struck out 13 to get the victory.
The Gladiators are now 11-3 on the season, with all three losses coming at home. With road games remaining at places like Page, East Rock and Stuarts Draft, it will be crucial for them to keep that unbeaten road streak intact as they hope to stay in the running for the Shenandoah regular season title, but more importantly a high position in the Conference 44 playoffs.
Next up however will be a home date, weather permitting, with Buffalo Gap on Friday. The Gladiators coincidentally also beat the Bison 13-2 on the road very early in the season so they will be going for the season sweep.
