Originally commented on the writer of the article in this post and decided that if I couldn't say something nice about him, I wouldn't say anything at all, so I deleted it.

Remember playing New Castle when I was in high school. Beat them 103-8 in the two years they were on the schedule, (although that's how I got to know Brett McPherson up close and personal! LOL!!! He was a GREAT player on a really bad football team!) I also remember Page scheduling New Castle in the mid 70's to get a sure-fire easy win only to have a deluge hit Shenandoah that Friday and the two teams slopped to a 0-0 tie in quite a bit of mud!

Good luck to Coach to get that thing going there! Happy to see the Rockets get that "W"!

Just because it was mentioned in the article, I'm not sure why more teams don't go independent. Teams that continually lose 9-10 games. What hurts you to go independent for two years? Can't make the playoffs? Who cares. Rebuild, don't stay in so you can go 1-9, 0-10 and make the playoffs and have to play the best team in your region.
I know a lot don't feel this way and believe you should play who you play. But schools that are bad year in and year out, and schools struggling to field a can take two years off, win some games and come back
