Can Union make it four times or will Graham finally figure out how to win against the Bears? I think it should be much better game this year than last year. I'm hoping G-Men can pull off the W!

This is first time Graham would be the outright betting favorite IMO. Union will need to play absolutely perfect and limit Grahams big plays if they hope to win. This Union team is the least explosive Union team in recent years, but it's a team that's very good at the LOS on both sides of the ball and has four RBs capable of carrying load (although only one, Avery Jenkins #20) has shown big play, leave everyone in the dust ability.

Graham is more disciplined on defense this year and they are more dimensional. They have a solid running game with backs that can grind it out and they have big play potential at QB and receiver. I like Graham's chances much better this season than last season. Graham has grown a lot and come together this year, especially on Defense. Lester has better hands at receiver than Cooke did for Graham last year and he is nearly as fast and he plays hard every play. I still say Graham is the underdog in this game because of past history with Union, there is a huge mental hurdle they must get over, but they are more than capable of pulling out the win this year.

Graham will need to cut down on the mistakes to get past the mental roadblock Union has on them. For some reason we cant go under center whatsoever. 2 fumbles on the 1 yard line under center. I like our chances this year better than years past. This team is a lot of fun to watch.

I don't think there's a mental block for Graham. Union has just been the better team the prior 3 meetings. This year will be different because Graham is the better team. I'm not sure what to expect score wise, but I do expect a Graham victory.

For Graham to win, they Must keep their focus. They cant have bone headed penalties or costly turnovers. The kicking game must do better than last week too. I know it went down as a blockef punt returned by V High... It was a whiff, picked up and returned for a td. The punt rush had nothing to do with it. Also had a punt for a net of -2 yards. Yes, they lost 2 yards on the punt. Usually, the punter does a good job, but that sort of thing cant happen on saturday. Fumbles have plagued the running game the past 2 weeks. Blame it on the mud in Marion. It was cold against V High, but they have got to hold onto the ball. Do these things and I think Graham has a great chance.

With the rain all week plus the shape of field already deteriorated from last week, what are chances of game being moved? Appo & Glenvar has been moved already. Hate to see teams have to play in a muddy mess when there are better options. I know many disagree with moving it and Union would probably loudly protest but still VHSL should consider moving it.

Field is sand based. No mud. Did you see pics from the Battle game? Battle's jerseys were as white at the end as the beginning.

Barring something crazy, it won't be moved.

Last possession of 4th quarter... https://scontent.flex1-1.fna.fbcdn....=1143cdfd5cd965b9add74c03260c4736&oe=5C89B569

Word is that the game may be moved to Wise Central. I said "may" before some of you get all riled up.

Games shouldn't be moved unless safety reasons or the home team wants it moved. That is part of earning home field.

Both teams are playing on it, so if it will help you, why not take the legal advantage.

I'll give you an example from up this way. Not rain, but a few years back, Buffalo Gap had a team that was a power football team, not really speedy. When Stuarts Draft rolled in to play them, who did have speed, the grass was about 4 inches long. Heard the same thing with Riverheads at Gap. Last year Gap had a bunch of athletes, grass was REALLY short.

What would be the benefit of Union moving it? They are then traveling, not playing at their famed Bullitt Park, probably less fans, so less money, and cause themselves a disadvantage

It's not going to be moved barring something completely unexpected. The field will have all day Friday and most of the day Saturday to dry out. It will be in good shape.
Just joking around. And the reality is that Graham has the better team this year, so it won't matter what field we play on.

I like Graham's chances also, but the fact that it's at Union and the weather we have been having may s low Graham down a little. I don't think it's a lock by any means. Graham is a more complete team this year and I'm sure they are embarassed at the effort that they put forth last season down at Union. It felt bad from the get go last year. From the band and cheerleaders being so late to the game, to the lack luster effort on the field. They seemed defeated after Union's first score. Sure hope they show up to play.

Just got back from the game. Grahams defense allowed Graham to overcome turnovers and penalties against a tough Union team. If the defense continues to play this way. I like their chances.

Takeaways from game:
GMen Defense much better than beginning of season! Kept Union at bay! Lightning! Everyone talks about explosive offense, defense did it today!

GMen penalties & turnovers need corrected by next week.

Union probably prefers Burger King to McDonald's now.

There must be a dang train depot behind home side of Bullitt Park complete with Mr. Conductor with his bullhorn!

Congratulations to Union on a great season & look forward to playing regular season next year.

I must say, that I went out of my way to stop at a McDonalds on the way home and I really enjoyed that Quarter Pounder Meal. They had a $6 deal that we don't have around Bluefield, Burger, Fries, Drink and apple pie for $6, nice

I'm pretty sure that most of the Graham faithful stopped at a Mickey D's to celebrate as well. Considering we were chanting. "I'm lovin it". And the Big Mac song towards the end of the game. I believe just about every Graham fan knew about that video. Most that I talked to, anyway.
