Is Tunstall good at anything ? To be the biggest school in the county and to be the richest school there not very good at much.
Baseball, sometimes softball and volleyball.. Won a golf championship a few years back. Football team made the state semi's in 2012. I graduated from there and Tunstall sends a boatload of kids to college and military. I am one of those kids and I appreciate the learning environment out there.
I don't know what problem is at Tunstall. Baseball is only good sport at Tunstall, and even that has slipped a little from what it was.
Yesssir you are right! THS used to own the county but last year they lost to Chatham and Dan River! Tunstall used to win by the slaughter rule every year. The 2014 baseball team was supposed to be the best team in school history and they didn't even win the big one. Back to football, they still have the best coach in the area in Potts. Coaching can only do so much. The coaches can't line up and play and it goes beyond football. Big words that this is the worst Tunstall team you've seen in 20 years...Ouch!
Chatham's coach has been there 2 years and Potts has been at Tunstall going on 15 and has at least coached in a state semifinal. Talk to me in about 3 years and then we'll see. We can talk all day about the good Potts and his wife has done in the Tunstall community. Winning wise, Anderson at GW is hands down the best but Potts is the best coach in Pittsylvania County.
Hate to tell you but Potts has done zip...zero to prove he's a good coach. What's he been the head coach going on 2 years? Don't tell me how great his JV record was, this isn't JV ball anymore. I'm sure he's a good guy but his head coaching so far has done nothing to prove he's the best in the county. He hasn't even had a winning record yet and it's not going to happen this year. I'll take Chatham's coach over him at this point. At least he's winning with what he has and not blaming it on a lack of talent.

Wins don't make you a good coach playa... Check Tunstall's SOLs, SAT and college prep, graduation rates, kids going to 4 year colleges, community colleges and military. Ask anyone in the Tunstall community, Potts is a leader in that community. Say whatever you want about wins and loses on the field, Potts is winning regardless!

Martinsville hasn't been relevant in football in a very long time. When it comes to basketball I mos def will state my case with facts
Not really smack talk since I went to Gretna.....just stated facts, as nice of a person as Tunstal coach may be, his record doesn't in any way indicate he's the best in the county. He's probably top 4 right now.
Tunstall Coach has not won enough games to be "graded" as to how good a football coach he is.
But I will say Tunstall is like a lot of teams, in that they need to improve their passing game.

Interesting that HR6 says Tunstall has fallen off rather than Gretna being better. Showing a little humbleness in your old age?
I'm sure you'll be able to talk smack by the time the Smith River Rivalry game is played. MV and Bassett will have similar if not identical records by then.
I'm seeing mv at 3-2 and Bassett if they can beat Halifax at 1-4. Records won't even be close.
If they don't have similar or identical records, I'll buy you dinner Shades.
Halifax put up 20 on Glass' 3rd stringers and jv players in the 4th quarter after it was 42-0 at the half.
No problem. If their records are complete opposite I'll meet you and your wife and pay for dinner. No questions asked.
