Gretna travels to Bluestone Friday for a "Benefit Game". This should serve as a good test for Hawks, in that they play several teams the caliber of Bluestone, come regular season.

HR6, what caliber would you say Bluestone is on? I don't think you'll see the "same old Bluestone" or years ago when this program was going 0-10 or 1-9 at best. Last year the Barons went .500,finished in the top half of the JRD, and made the postseason for the first time in school history. If you look at them program wise they have come a long long way and are now doing the things (7 on7's, camps, workouts, etc) needed in offseason to build a consistent program...plus they run your offense HR! Elite program yet? No. Playoff caliber? I think so, and I agree with you the Hawks play a lot of teams of same caliber this year, which I know you hate for points purposes, but I think the young Hawks could take flight by winning some ball games and getting confidence and a decent seed come postseason

Bluestone has never lacked size or athletes. Every year they were the bigger team in the JRD but had 0 coaching. I think they turn a corner and be better than the past.

by caliber, I meant around .500. There are a lot of teams that are in the 4-6 and 5-5 range. I dream of day Gretna becomes a 10-0 or 9-1 team again, or even 8-2, and gets back to Salem. Not much excitement going 3-7.

Gretna up 26-0 at half. Gretna only had 2 pass attempts in first half. one completion for 34 yards and a touchdown. I left at halftime.
