After seeing both in back to back weeks, what's your opinion on Grundy compared to Galax
Galax is playing just like last week, just going through the motions. Worst back to back first halves by Galax in 10 years. If this continues they will not be a factor in the playoffs.
Grundy has the better line play imo and Galax has better athletes. Against GW Grundy was not playing around they saw the smack talk and heard that they were best before it started. So they proved a point to me and anyone else doubting them. And as MT said Galax looks like they don't want to be here they are playing like GW did again Graham and Grundy. And GW has finally started tackling and finishing plays and that's the difference so far in this one. So right now I would have to say Grundy is the better of the two. I may change my tune after this one is over but as it is Grundy is the better team overall.
Looks like it'll be some good playoff games out West this year and it doesn't look like there's a clear favorite like in recent years. I watched the Grundy game last week and I was very impressed. As a old school smash mouth football guy, that style of play is right up my alley. Luray in 2B is a great team to watch this year if you like that style of play. They just punch you in the mouth over and over
GW-20 Galax-0 8:03 3rd Q Smith keeps it from 10 yards out. That drive shows what MT Fan 91 is saying. GW drives into Galax territory and gets 2 back to back false starts to make it 3rd and 20 something next play Galax gets the PI and keeps us alive 2 plays later we score.
Yeah this side of the state should give us some killer games come November. And I love smash mouth football that's what GW used to be. And I feel like GW, Galax and Grundy all 3 can beat each other on any given night. GW has came out gangbusters in every game then just forgot what football is. Galax has all the potential in the world but just come out flat it seems at the wrong times. And Grundy is going to hit you in the mouth no matter what if you can handle it and slow them down you can beat them if not pack a lunch cause it's gonna be a long night.
Then you have Grayson who has looked like world beaters but their schedule leaves a question mark about how legit they are. But over the next 3 weeks we should know with Giles, Galax and GW all coming to play.

I think they'll play with both GW and Galax and if either play as bad as they have at times Grayson will beat them. And GW looked pretty good tonight we held Galax's O to zero points the lone score came on a pick 6.
Their d stepped up last night for sure, not taking anything away from them but Galax is just not good right now. Something is just off with this team right now and they better figure out what it is on a hurry
Yeah you guys just didn't seem like the Galax teams of past years. I know each season is a different team but y'all usually don't make simple mistakes. Those mistakes put points on the board for GW last night. Me personally I'm not convinced Galax is in a bad position I remember a 6-4 Galax making a run to state after losing to my Maroons. So anyone who has them left to play don't sleep on em they are definitely still a dangerous team.
While it is never good to lose - last night could be a good thing for Galax . I think the coaching staff finally saw you cannot run the same play all night against good teams . The first time we ran left it was a 50 yard gain. Putting Tommy in at QB and Mason at receiver was a nice move . Mason has so much potential as a receiver and Tommy was throwing the ball on a rope. They had several great completions. It also taught Galax how not to defend the option. Lol
GW wanted that game more and had some really big plays the 90 plus yard score right before half was huge . These two will probably see each other again. Although George Wythe earned that win.

I agree GW earned the win and I'm not taking anything away from them but something is off with Galax right now, I'm hopeful this game will wake them up and show them they have a lot of work to do. I think it's time to start Tommy at QB and put Cox back outside so that we actually have a passing threat. I still think this team has potential but they better figure it out quickly or they will be a quick out come playoff time
