We have our 2nds in the game now to rest them. Our talent level is SO much better than auburns.

I will enjoy every second of it and I agree with you. I do think we will win next week but I just dont see us getting.past essex but you never know.

Essex has a huge game next week with Colonial Beach before they can think about the semifinals themselves. CB only lost to them by 8 the first game and they appear to be hitting on all cylinders themselves right now. Pulling hard for the Trojans but I do expect a dog fight next Friday night in Tappahannock

The fact is GW played a better game (controlled the line of scrimmage) and did what they had to do to win so unlike you who came on here before and after the game against Auburn and started making excuses myself nor anyone that may pull for Auburn will make any excuses for the loss or play the what if or only if this happen game that you play. They did just as I said they would do and that was show up and compete and play hard and I think the game was just a wee bit closer than your so called "expert" (LMAO) opinion of 36-0. I am not sure what game he was watching but you are correct , auburn did what it had to do with the exception of three big plays. Couldn't get the ball in the end zone , both teams played hard and physical. The team has nothing to be ashamed of, GW is 2 years removed from a state championship.I hope the people of Auburn appreciate what they have, who would have imagined Auburn would be a topic on Va Preps. As for the future do whatever it takes to keep Coach Turner there, I have heard many rumors about his departure.
Did what it had to do, didn't get the ball in the end zone to have a chance to win the game. Why would 40 want to leave when it is been well documented that if you are a running back who else would you want to play for. With fans like you , I feel sorry for Coach Hale it will be a miserable time if you don't go 15-0 at the Fort. All by the way Auburn was playing because it beat the fort, at the fort.
Now you not playing cause you got beat by GW. So take your victory in beating a team that wasn't 100%. You deserve it. Don't start crying when your coach leaves and takes his assistant coaches with him. Auburn will be back to what it was. An easy win for every team out there.
This is high school, particularly in a rural area. Kids don't follow coaches around, or maybe we should say families don't. Some situations might be an opportunity for a young player, and what is best for his potential future. Families I think should consider that. I would, but things just have to fit. They do not always fall in place, but one thing is for sure, comments on this board will not determine where anybody plays.

That is certainly not a excuse that is a observation and my opinion. Here are some facts for you: Auburn controlled the ball and time of possession they ran twice as many plays and had 10 more first downs than GW and if I am not mistaken only had a couple of negative yardage plays for the game. They also outside of a couple of big plays (long runs) kept GW's offense and speed in check for the most part all day. Those are all facts that mean NOTHING. Here are some what if's/excuses for you: What if the linebacker (that had not played defense ALL SEASON) for Auburn was in the right place and makes the play that should have been made on the first touchdown then maybe GW comes away with 3 as opposed to 7 who knows. What if Auburn does not give up the first of 2 long runs and touchdown and Auburn scores right at the end of the first half as they should have then maybe just maybe we have a 7-3 Auburn lead going into the half or at worse maybe its a 10-7 GW lead at the half as opposed to 14-0. What if in the second half Auburn does not give up the second big play (long run) for a GW touchdown and score as they did in the fourth then maybe we have a 14-10 Auburn win as opposed to a 21-7 loss. At the end of the day what do all of these what if's mean? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. At the end of the day GW did what they had to do to win the game and Auburn simply did not. END OF STORY.
I heard Nelson had to play some defense because of a injury to the starter against Fort Chiswell , I was told by a parent at the game that the secondary Auburn started with at the beginning of the season has been depleted with injuries and car wrecks. Not excuses, just facts.

I heard...and you know how talk is......that his son is going to vt the next year.....think hes ajunior this year...so living close for family,,,and hes a proven coach to turn a program in the right direction...was told his name is in the pot...who knows....GO GILES
