GW Danville

SMH at the GW player cursing out an older Salem fan on the fan page. Salem spanked them up good tonight. Guess they have to take their anger out on somebody. Good luck to the Spartans next week. Thanks for proving my point and stay classy Danville.

Same lady who called me out on Facebook, her son (a player) is cursing out an older Salem fan on the fan page. Salem spanked them up good tonight. Guess they have to take their anger out on somebody. Good luck to the Spartans next week. Thanks for proving my point and stay classy Danville.
Oh Lord, people are actually blaming the officials there. If anything, GW benefited more in this regard but implying it was one sided in either direction is insanity.

It’s a crying shame. Tonight was a good clean game, officiating was excellent. I’d be the first to call it shaky. People would rather blame others than to just say “I wasn’t good enough”.

And then there are Pulaski fans echoing their cries on a GW football page. Actively rooting for other teams to beat your rivals because your own team can't is pathetic.

I actually root for Pulaski against opponents outside of the district. I would rather them be good than bad.

GW has some special players and great kids in their program. Willie Edmunds (#4), Jalen Strange (#12), Shakobe Hairston (#1) Worm Poole (#42), Shy Watlington (#17), and Donovan Howard (#19) are all big time players and most importantly, great kids. Wish those guys the best of luck and hope others in Danville follow their lead. They definitely left it all on the field tonight.

I would also add #73, #7 and #16.

I ran into Edmunds mother as we were leaving last night. We had a short talk about football. Very nice lady. Wish her son the best.

I’ve been knowing Willie Edmunds since he was in diapers. His uncle was my barber in Danville and his father would bring him to the shop as a toddler.. Man I’m getting old 😂. They are always the same down to earth people. Very humble people. Willie is an excellent young man and comes from great stock. I was impressed with his growth this season. He put on at least 15 pounds of muscle and was very physical. I wish he was used more the past 3 seasons and GW’s game plan should’ve involved him more last night. I’m hoping Willie gets a shot at Tech like his cousins. Willie could’ve very well left to go to Reidsville in NC a few years ago and started there. He would’ve won two state championships and would probably have triple the offers that he has now or more. Says a lot about his character for staying at GW. Excellent young man.

I agree with you! Pulaski hasn’t beat Salem since I was in 9th grade.. I’m 27 😂

I’m highly disappointed in Danville. Their good play on the field is negated by their actions after the game tonight. I’m the bad guy for calling them out for their actions. I wish Nick Anderson the best. It’s one thing to lose with dignity, but having a child curse and be disrespectful to an adult and it’s supposed to be okay, that’s where I draw the line. I won’t be following those guys any more nor donating to the booster club until the adults teach them some respect. Sad times in Danville.
The last time Pulaski County defeated Salem was the 21-13 Cougar win in the 2010 season, the first year of Head Coach Todd Jones.

Great Season Eagles you came a long way
You guys fought through Covid losing multiple
Returning teammates at the beginning of the season who elected not to play for various reasons you played 3 games in 7 days and won them all you finished Region D runners up
We are all very proud of you
I wrote GW off after 1st game. They battled back and became good football team. Lots of good life lessons learned.
