GW/Dinwiddie

Is the game considered a forfeit by GW? I ask because if more no contests occur and a teams schedule falls below 9 games doesn’t that eliminate them from playoff qualification or has that rule been changed for this year? If so, what is the minimum games played required for the playoff?

It’s a forfeit win for Dinwiddie if they don’t schedule another opponent.

The chances of getting another opponent at this point is probably impossible. Maybe look for one during the scheduled bye week

Each region sets up minimum game requirements to qualify for playoffs. But it does behoove someone healthy to try to find a match, just in case it happens often enough to affect you, or if your team has to take a break later in the season.

Yeah I meant to say they could find another team that is free due to their opponent being quarantined. For example, Hopewell had to shut down last week. If Hopewell can’t go on Friday, then Dinwiddie could play Varina, Hopewell’s opponent this Friday. A lot of teams will just take the forfeit W and go on to the next opponent.

Does anyone know how long that will put GW out for? I was really looking forward to making the trek to Danville next week for their matchup with Amherst co.

There is no forfeit. The game is cancelled. The playoff rating for GW will be total of points divided by nine.
If covid cancellations are truly not a forfeit (I’m not sure who is right), that’s gets back to future cancellations resulting in too few games played to qualify for the playoffs by some teams. I think in Region A here 9 is the minimum. Not much breathing room.

If all goes right, GW will be good to practice next Monday. I like the Lancers in next week’s match up.
Saw some of there game vs Millbrook, they loooed a lot better than I expected personally. Did not see vs Louisa but heard they won? Haven’t seen Gw play yet but they are always good.
On another note I did catch the jamboree with JF and they looked good. Didn’t expect to see new system done so well this fast

Should be very competitive in the Seminole this year. With Glass former OC and DC at JF, they should be much better. Amherst getting better every year under Christmas, and Torrence at Rustburg.
