GW is coming off of a beating at the hands of Galax and I mean a beating. And tonight they will be looking make a point at the expense of Bland. But will they be able to? I hope so if Bland gives us fits then it might to late to make a stand.

I think GW can pretty much do what they want in this game but I think our pass game will be the killer. This game should be one sided in the Favor of GW but who knows. I'm gonna say that we will win and win big as is expected by myself and many others. So I'm just hoping for a good showing.

So with all of that said you know I gotta go with MY MAROONS
GW-56 Bland-14

Gw SHOULD win this one for sure. Would like to see a more tasteful score than predicted. Would like to see who the back ups are. Just saying! Sure individual accolades are gonna happen but seems like the second string needs to get a little time in at some point. Would be nice to see if depth is gonna be helpful come playoff time. Team ball is more important for morale than watching a blowout from the sidelines.

Backups in the game!? Come on! GW's starters have meshed well yet, they need all the live reps they can get. Stop worrying about playing subs and get the starters ready for the Playoffs.

If your starters were well meshed and firing on all cylinders, then yes, get the other kids some time, but unfortunately that isn't the case.

GW wins and pours it on.

I agree on both of you guys points we need the depth but the starters need to figure out how to play as a team. And every time GW gets hammered they massacre the next opponent they can. So if Bland doesn't make us beat them then it will get BAD quickly.

I hear this same argument every single season about playing the bench. I look at it this way. Your bench is injury prevention. Use them as such to protect your postseason plans. That may be a series...it may be a quarter...it may be none at all. Just use them in a way so they know they serve a valuable purpose on that team.

Bland came out fighting they made us work on the first few drives. But I think that 90+ scoring drive might have showed GW they can move the balla. And the fumble we scored off of really set the tone. GW looked ok a few mistakes that shouldn't have happened but over a good game as a team. Hopefully we can keep plugging away next week at Grayson and build off this win.

Just curious what the thoughts were from the other side of the field. I honestly thought bland played fairly well considering and have something to build on going into next year if they get the lber who tore his acl back.
Bland played with nothing but heart they kept coming. And have some very solid kids playing. The QB, and #7 are damn good but they didn't have any time to get moving. If Blands O line was a step or 2 better they'd be really good for a smaller school. And #44 and #89 are extremely underutilized imo both kids have great size and will thump you. 44 should get almost every carry on short downs and should lead block all others. And imo that QB is special but he doesn't have hardly and set plays for him to run. With what I saw if Bland brings back a few of those players and gets that line working right they will make noise next year. Good looking group just needs more time to figure it out.

Bland has three seniors on the roster but only one has seen much time due injuries. 44 moved to FB a week or two ago after the starter tore an acl. Also moved from safety to lber for the same reason. Played split end until that point. Thought GW did a good job of making the QB pitch on option. I’ve seen each of blands games except the northwood game but I think this was the best they’ve played for 4 quarters despite the final score. Giving up the two late tds made it look a little worse than it actually was. The running back for GW ran hard all night and broke a lot of tackles. Impressed with his effort. Maybe things will work out and we can make the short drive through the tunnel in a couple weeks.

The only D1 player in SW Virginia is the kid from Blacksburg. C'mon on man

You're talking about Coleton Beck from Blacksburg and he has commited to VT but his teammate Tiquest Terry has 4 or 5 D1 offers so far as a junior. Taymon Cooke from Graham has Taymon Cooke that has around 10 D1 offers including Michigan State & WVU. James Mitchell from Union is a 4 star prospect and the #6 ranked player in the state of Virginia by Rivals. He's got offers from Clemson, Georgia, Miami, VT, Tennessee.. and plenty of others from the ACC & SEC. I guess you don't keep up with SWVA too much.

Or is just a troll. One of the two.

And I will say of Walker Nowers would've played this year he very easily could've been D1 level. So I'm going with a good bit of trolling going on here haha.

Wrong. Region D AA has two alone, Unions James Mitchell, a 3-4* recruit who will decide between VT, UGA, UT, South Carolina, and Duke as well as Graham's Taymon Cooke, who has offers from WVU, Michigan State, etc...
And in Region C, Appomattox has Graves going to NC State.

Edit-Didnt see eh's posts and forgot Terry.
