GW vs Honaker predictions

I see a lot of people picking honaker to win this one. But if radford's speed gave them trouble then GW's spped should.hurt them very badly. Now don't get me wrong radford has some good speed but we are a lot faster. And have gotten a lot better from when we played them to open the season. And we may get Trey Skeens back this week. So my question is what does honaker bring to the game? And if radford could do that well against them with a back up at QB on that turf with our speed we could cause them big problems. This is just my ooinion whats your's? Ill take GW-35 Honaker-21
 
Honaker turned the ball over 3 times inside Radfords 20. And helped them out with a lot of penalties. The stuff I've seen from the Radford gw game Radford made gw look SLOW!! As for what honaker is going to bring to the game? They are going to line up and punch you right in the mouth!
 
Master says GW faster than Radford.Braves says Radford made GW look slow. I have seen Radford and they are fast,but have not seen GW. I am picking against GW because of score with Auburn. Let's see how it plays out. My heart says GW but brain says Honaker.
 
Honaker 35 GW 14. And GW does have speed but its not utilized in a way to make a difference in this game. If GW would run a 5 wide type of offense I would say they have a slight chance.

And I promise you GW fans will leave there pissed at the officiating. Remember Radcats said it first!
 
My opinion would be a flashback to the state game. Gw 17 honaker 10. I think if they get trey skeens back it will help out a lot. Monterick Phillips is good but having two great backs caused them problems two years ago. But that's just my opinion.
 
Well those things happen and it shows they keep fighting so good for them. But no radford did not make us look slow they showed how young we are :) and im so glad they think getting lined and punching us in.the mouth will some how worrie us here is a hint it WON'T!!!!!!
Tazwell and so many others have tried that and we saw how well that worked. See honaker tried that in 2012 and our speed showed them what a fast smashmouth team like GW will do to a slow moving team like honaker. So please I and all of Wytheville begs of you underestimated us please. These are the facts 1) We are a lot faater than honaker 2) You.dont worrie us with that oh look.we are big and slow so we are gonna hit you hard. 3) GW will smack honaker in the mouth and wont think twice about it in fact we will LOVE IT! 4) We are very fast yes but we also love to hit so put your big boy pants on you're gonna need them make sure your pads are on tight boys. 5) Our kids love to hit LOVE!!! It we love to blast you and step over your limp body so bring it big country boys. GW will show you what fast and smash is rather than your slow and mow. Oh and thanks for letting us let our speed go on that beautiful turf you have.
 
Whatever you say there bud. I'll wait and talk to you after Saturday. I will say one thing there pal this gw team IS NOT THE 2012 TEAM!!! That was a very good team and yes the took it to us that day but you don't have that defense this year.
 
Good luck and safe travels to GW. Lots of respect for the program and for what they have been through it seems they have really came together as a team! Harner has seemed to do a great job in his first year. MasterBlaster idk why are you getting the we are gonna kick your butt attitude. It amazes me that people cant post logically about a game without getting the better than thou crap in there... i guess it makes it fun!! Anyway that is your opinion and everyone has one (radcats). Honaker is a fundamentally sound team. The Radford game was sloppiest we have played and Ill give the Bobcats some credit for some of that. We are more of a power run team and run outta the power I alot (which some would say is smash mouth football, not necessarily sayin "aww man... we gonna knock u in the mouth... be ready... gonna knock you off ur feet " kinda thing). And I think GW knew they had played a game in 2012. We had right much success runnin up the gut that game as well. However, i dnt think you can put 7/8 in the box to stop the run because we are capable of a passing game. GW was the quicker team in 2012 and probably will be on Sat. I like our chances but it will be close.
 
Bravesfan is right. This GW has nothing on the 2012 GW team. I hope these teams keep coming to Honaker thinking we're too slow to play with them. Like I said to Radcats last week, we'll come out smack you in the mouth. Then our "slow and mow" offense controls the game and eats clock. Honaker will dominant the time of possession in this game and that will be the difference. Honaker 35 GW 21.
 
I agree gw ain't the same team it was in 2012, but there are still some starters out on that field. I don't think it will be a high scoring game. All I know without a doubt honaker is coming for revenge. If GW shows up to play I believe it will a good game to watch.
 
They took it to us? It was 17-10... and was tied 10-10 after GW blew a 10-0 lead... both teams (esp defenses) played great games but GW was able to put that 2nd half 4th Q TD in the endzone and we didn't. But I wouldnt describe it as they took it to us as that sounds like they ran away with it. They won the game but I thought the teams were pretty evenly matched. Great defensive game to watch!!
 
Not sure where this "Skeens may be back" is coming from. Kid had surgery. Broken!!! Not strained, not sprained, BROKEN bones. I think some people are living in a dream bubble.
 
Dont forsee him playing. BHC stated he had a plate put in on the fibula. I dont see them rushing him back like that but maybe it wasnt as bad as stated. Certainly wish him luck with his recovery for sure. I hate to see a good player go down at the end of his season like that!! Cant be easy to stand on the sideline!! Anyway ... we will see saturday won't we?
 
Yes took it to us man. I've watched the game several times and the flat out should have bblown us out. They gashed our d all day. The lone td we scored was a great/luck play. The only reason it was as close as it was was because gw let it be with mistakes.
 
Im not trying to come off as an a$$ sorry if I have. Honaler is the #1 seed for a reason and we are #4 for a reason and only time will tell who's opinion is right. As far as this years team not being on the same level as the 2012 team I will tell you this much we have just as much talent now then we did in 2012. Ive coach these kids and been around them the whole time they've been playing football from Sandlot the high school and I know for a fact they have just as much talent. We have a few starters from that team still playing. Hell Honaker may beat us by 100 but ill support my team and love my team the same as I always have. But I just dont see that being the case Ive said it before we have a stable of running backs. If GW plays as a team and hits our marks we should win if not it could be a long day. But please dont for 1 second think your size or your hit you in the Mouth attitude will scare us worry us or change how we play our game. And as far as people saying they will control the clock and hold the ball most of the game and win that way that fine auburn tried that same little tactic and that's all good and well when you play other slow teams that do the same thing but GW can score in one play. We do it all the time so eat up the clock take half the Q to move the ball we will score in 1-3 plays and be ready to do it all over again. GW may be able to score in 1-3 plays but not against one of the best defenses in the state in 1A. Also, Honaker isn't as slow as you think. You'll see Saturday. See you there!
 
LOL.. Honaker DOES NOT have one of the best defenses in 1A..... Maybe against Hurley you thought so. WOW!
 
WOW!!!! Really the best defense in 1A football the VHSL has your off at 46th and your D at 37th hmmmmmm that is far from #1. I mean come on now guy I'm not being rude but you kinda got to play somebody worth talking about and dont say Haysi or Clintwood cause Haysi plays the same crap level of competition you do and Clintwood got beat by Patrick Henry. Who GW beat by 23 points 44-21 so we will see how well that #1 D deals with our O
 
After your first three games you all had the easiest schedule in SWVA. The toughest game was probably Northwood. Lol
 
I guess in both teams defense, a lot of times you cant help what you have to play against.
 
I'm from haysi, you know the school known for being "crap competition" to some. I have seen honaker place this year. They do have flaws the same as Haysi and every other team in the country. They do have a good defense and I was particularly impressed by the secondary. I don't know anything about George wythe so I won't comment on them, something others around here should do when they don't know what they are talking about but that's just my opinion. I have no clue what the outcome will be but from one deep southwest va fan to our rivals, good luck and hope you pull it off. As far as pride for your teams its a great thing and you should be proud, but don't be an ass about it. Both sides will have opinions about the game but let that be settled on the field and not come off as a bad representation of your school. Just my 2¢ take it for what its worth.
 
I never said Haysi was crap competition I said they play crap competition. Haysi is #2 for a reason and I respect them and Honaker. I my friend ill be the first to say GW plays a baby level of competition in district. But there is no way in hell that we play the weakest comp in swva. Again my goal is not to be an a$$ or anything like that. Good luck to all the teams still play as you're still playing for a reason so again good luck and safe travels to all who have to.
 
You certainly come across as an "a$$"...but I digress. GW will sorely feel the loss of Skeens this weekend. That won't knock them out, but it will hurt. Regardless, I just can't see GW making it much past that. However, I would like to commend the new coach in Wytheville for pulling that team together and making this season a success in the face of adversary.
 
Again sorry for being an ass sometime well most of the time lol. And if Skeens can't play ive said it before we are not a 1 back team. We have at least 7 kids that can fill his spot. Speed and big back is something we are not short on. But none of anything any of us say on here matters all that matter is how much the kids want it and how hard they play on saturday. So again good luck to all the teams still playing and safe travels.
 
Haysi is a very good program, I hate this is their last year. I hope Conley get the job over Mullins. IMO Conley reloads every year nearly, while Mullins is up and down.
