Well folks the regular season has come to an end but that means the start of the playoffs. GW comes into this game at 6-4 and PM comes in at 4-6 but records don't matter everyone is 0-0. And now you have to be perfect or its season over.
Back to this game both of these 2 are having down years and haven't lived up to the preseason hype. Both fan bases haven't been happy all year with coaching choices myself included. But I'll be the first to say I've over stepped in some places. So I want to make tonight and this post about the young men taking the field at 7pm. For some this will be the last time they every put on the uniform and for some the journey will continue. Tonight means alot for both teams and it's a chance to start over and play as one and take things one game at a time. BB was 5-5 going into the second season last year and won it all. So both of these teams can find that mojo and become something new.
GW is a team with ablity but we don't execute well most of the time turnovers have been a problem all year. It's put a stop to many scoring drives for us our pass game is very capable but interceptions run rampant this season. Our Run game has turned into something completely different over the past few weeks Rayvon Wells is running like a man on fire. So GW is not short on weapons who can put up points quickly we just have to make things click and we will be just fine in this game. For Georgia this game is really simple come out and execute and you will win play like you did against Galax Fort Chiswell and Grayson and it's going to be a long night.
PM is having lots of problems this year from things I've read I haven't been able to see them play this year but it just doesn't have the same feel as PM football usually does. They still come off as a hard-nosed team to me who likes to get physical in the trenches and we all know what Dawson is capable of in the backfield but again like GW they don't seem to be able to execute. The potential is definitely there but is the heart and is the ability to execute there? And PM has one of my favorite players in VA in Wheeler the LB. That kid was a stud last year in the few games I saw and imo has D1 talent. But I've heard from a few in Buena Vista that he isn't being used right so idk what to thin at this point. Speaking of LBs GW has its TANK back in Landon Thompson who is a monster on the D side of things.
So for me this game really comes down to who can impose their will on the other team first. Can GW use the run game to get the pass game going if so we will win. Or can PM control the trenches and get 4 yards a pop if so they win. Line play and D will decide this game who ever shines in those spot wins this one.
GW has more weapons and I feel they can stay more composed if things get hairy. Chilhowie proved that to me. And PM has been riddled with penalties this season that could play a big part in to a GW victory.
So with all of that said you know I gotta go with MY MAROONS
GW-42 PM-17
Best of luck to everyone and safe travels to all heading to a game
