With the season 1 week from Friday it's time to get the talk going so what is your opinion of this game?

I'll start by saying safe travels to all who make the trip to Wytheville. As for the game I think it will be a close game and a better game than last season. Radford has Finley back who is an amazing athlete and makes Radford's offense a good bit better he has a cannon and great mobility. GW has Deacon Beamer at QB he is not as mobile as our QB last year but his arm is a 1000 times better. Our backfield is going to be basically the same yes we lost a great player in Trey Skeens. But we kept Monterick Phillips who is a speed demon we also have Jordan Harber who is imo the next Skeens and then there is Rashad Wells, Kane Owens, Markell Moss and Tyler Hardin. Then we have our O and D line which should be a good bit better than last season with Gavin Gray a 6'3 260lb sophomore, Dylan Anderson a 6'5 250lb Jr, Jason Jones a 6'0 220 sophomore, and these are just our main 3 big men. We are very young and fast and big not that different from what I've heard about Radford so this should be a great game to watch with that said I'll take my MAROONS 35-21

As well I'd like to wish everyone travelling in all games a safe and fun trip. I think this this game will be good. I'm excited to see this years game, I think we will come away with the win 28 - 21

Radford brought a lot back from last year. They have all their skill position players returned along with a few lineman. The offense should be fun to watch. I don't know nothing about GW as I haven't been keeping up with everyone as I usually do. I do know when these two get together its lights out. I expect another classic with someone winning by a last second play.

Radford's rb Grant is a horse! Really enjoyed watching him play when the bobcats ce to Honaker last year and I think he is the difference in this one with a huge game.

Radford 35
Wythe 14

This game is one of those games that could turn into a shoot out real quick like TCU vs Baylor type game. You have 2 very high power offenses who can score at anytime from any spot on the field. However it turns out I don't see the winner of the game winning by more than 2 td's at the most. And Radcats I agree I think it will be another classic GW vs Radford game and its only gonna be that much better because of what this game means to both teams. And like you said I can see it being decided in the last drive or seconds of the game. I remember Radford beat GW 3-0 in a war at GW one of the best games I've seen. So good luck to both teams and safe travels to you and everyone else making the trip.

Braves I definitely remember Grant he is a load lol and can cause any team a lot of trouble. But to be honest and I mean no disrespect by saying this he is not the one that worries me it's Finley the QB that kid is a great athlete. Not saying Grant isn't just that GW normally has more trouble with QB's and the pass game rather than the run game.

None taken blaster. Finley wasn't 100% last year in the playoffs and then got hurt returning the second half kick off so I didn't get to see what he was capable of. With him out grant was by far the best bobcat on the field offensively and defensively imo.

Oh yeah I completely agree Grant set the tone for the game and haha that is what worries me he wasn't 100% and was still hard to deal with. I just cant wait for next Friday 2 highly hyped teams that have a nice rivalry and always show up and give each other everything they have. That's why I love this game and especially this level of it High school football is the purest form of the sport.

If all the hype I've heard about Radford this year is true I look for them to take care of GW this year.

Radford-35
GW-17
Just my opinion, I think radfords skill and ability to spread the field and get play makers in space will be too much.

I have learned one valuable thing in SWVA sports. Most of the time you don't bet against Radford...However, playing GW in football AT HOME is one exception. I will give a narrow win to the W
24-21

It's no secret that our biggest weakness in our secondary and Radford took advantage of that last season. So we have to step it up to keep Finley from hitting the deep ball on us.
